2 more of you wow... are you close?
What does the heart condition do... how does it affect you?

I have NO brothers or sisters
I do have bronchial asthma though! :)

We look nothing alike. We are not close at all....we used to be.

This is what my condition is....

Stenosis means narrowing. Pulmonary stenosis is then a narrowing of the pulmonary valve.

Normally the pulmonary valve opens to let low oxygen blood flow from the right ventricle to the lungs where the blood is oxygenated. Because of the narrowing the right ventricle has to pump harder to get past the stenotic valve. This can sometimes lead to enlargement of the right ventricle.

Depending on the severity of the pulmonary stenosis, open heart surgery may be indicated to correct the defect. Another option may be a balloon valvuloplasty. This procedure is done in the cardiac catheterization lab.

The balloon valvuloplasty I had done when I was 18. I have to go back in a year to have my heart checked out again.

Wow sounds complicated... scary how much we learn when it happens to us though huh. I have seen the valvuloplasty procedures on TV actually.
Does it affect you, do you have to be careful athletically?

The only limits I have....are the ones I set upon myself. I have to watch my sodium intake...so I do not use salt at all. I have no limits athletically....I can go all night ! ;)
