That's the strangest zebra I've ever seen!
“Truth is like ass: everyone’s got his own.”"In any story, there are three things you have to consider: the teller, the tale, and the listener." —To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch
But it is of a particular stripe, right? Like Pepe La Pew.That's the strangest zebra I've ever seen!
Realities are often sad and lonely than fantasies and sometime people tend to over compensate to feel belonged.Perhaps you could gently suggest that either their reality or their fantasy need to come into alignment with Lit’s strongly supported rules…
I was all set to delete my account and go in self exile. Thank you so much for being fun and easygoing bunch. You tried to help a friend. Any shame is on them, not you.
and sometimes people are too dumb for their own good to understand any of it.And it's that fifth truth that provides some of the most interesting drama." -- J. Michael Straczynski
Admittedly I’ve only seen the first and last page, but how was it ‘fun’, given the nature of what your friend posted…? People here have presumably been supportive, maybe, but are you not disturbed by the possibility of your friend coming back? This is not how I had imagined my first post to go.

Now that the mystery is solved I can go back to be being silent observer. My friend is thinking of coming back sometime in future with new id but that's for her to decide.
It was embarrassing in rather fun way. Thank you all.![]()
I think my first thought would be "I need a different type of friend."Note to self... don't trust when your friend says but they didn't do anything View attachment 2547622

Zebras, horses, Emus, unicorns and skunks aren't fun?Admittedly I’ve only seen the first and last page, but how was it ‘fun’,
The tutus would have to be quite big to cover their trunkZebras, horses, Emus, unicorns and skunks aren't fun?
Do we need to bring out the pink elephants in TuTus?
If I was brand new to this village and had no real frame of reference, I think that I wouid be easily confused about what is acceptable and what is not if I hadn’t read the rules. We have all kinds of extreme and unusual behaviours depicted here, so for everybody to suddenly be pausing in the village square to stare would be a tad disconcerting.Admittedly I’ve only seen the first and last page, but how was it ‘fun’, given the nature of what your friend posted…? Am I the only one thinking something doesn’t quite add up here…?
"In any story there are three things - your story, my story and what actually happened. And it's seldom that two of them agree."
I like both of these, and they remind me of a slightly more complicated version attributed to the guy most known for Babylon 5 but who also had a hand in a lot of other teevee:
"Basically, I have this theory that there are five kinds of truth.
There is the truth you tell to casual strangers and acquaintances.
There is the truth you tell to your general circle of friends and family members.
There is the truth you tell to only one or two people in your entire life.
There is the truth you tell to yourself.
And finally, there is the truth that you do not admit even to yourself.
And it's that fifth truth that provides some of the most interesting drama." -- J. Michael Straczynski
I take this to heart when I write my (lightly regarded) stories. It can also be summarized as "everybody except the narrator lies sometimes."
We now return you to your regularly scheduled Zebra Update.
Please. That is clearly a black cat with a stripe of white paint on its back. That's the strangest zebra I've ever seen!
Ah, so someone caught @StillStunned trying to cosplay as a zebra? Please. That is clearly a black cat with a stripe of white paint on its back.
Sylvester Le Pew?Please. That is clearly a black cat with a stripe of white paint on its back.
It's likely safe to read anything JMS said in G'Kar's voice, or vice versa. Author avatar and all that.I'm disappointed to find out that this is a JMS quote rather than being from the show, because I totally read it in G'Kar's voice.
I wanted to surprise @onehitwanda.Ah, so someone caught @StillStunned trying to cosplay as a zebra?
The Zebras are out there, man. And they must be dealt with. Before you know it you're confusing day and night, and that is a good way to get killed in a Zebra migration. You can't trust them.I think of myself as a big Occam's Razor believer, but what I love about this saying is that . . . sometimes it's zebras. Once I was stopped at a light in my car, saw a flash of movement, thinking it was, weirdly, a horse running in the street, and it turned out to be a zebra. It was being transported somewhere and had escaped from its trailer.
Our chief weapon is fear! Fear and surprise! Two! Our two chief weapons are fear and surprise!Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
We needed more Douglas Adams in this conversation. While not on the subject of zebras who can forget the salutory tale of Man after proving the existence of God?
"Oh, that was easy," says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.”
I can't think of anything clever to say to that. I'll just have to throw in the towel. We needed more Douglas Adams in this conversation.
So long as you know where it is, and then your hoopiness will be there for all to see.I can't think of anything clever to say to that. I'll just have to throw in the towel.
