'Man-made climate change' is 'manufactured nonsense' driven by profit motive: climate change scientist

The IPCC was set up "to look for dangerous human-caused climate change."
<derp snip>

Of course smart people have known all along it was BS.

Climate change keyboard warriors make it look like a hoax when they refuse to do anything effective about it. Hypocritically dumping the costs on other people so they can personally avoid personal hardship and inconvenience has been getting a "meh, fuck off" from the rest of the nation for decades. So the human part of climate change will proceed and the heavy consumers will continue consuming until the global economy runs out of fuel.
People who understand that anthropogenic warming is a real thing vote for candidates that enact legislation like the inflation reduction act, which was the largest global governmental investment in history geared towards reducing carbon emissions.

That's something effective.

Is it enough? No....but combined with single efforts like solar and EVs, it's makes a dent.

Hope this helps. 👍

If politicians can't fear monger or profit from it, their media doesn't talk about it.

I have this visual of the big quake finally hitting and California falling into the ocean as an entire state sinks and millions are dead....the topic of Chris Hayes show that night will be "Did you see what Trump tweeted?"
I see where they had a 5.1 quake just north of LA yesterday in the middle of that tropical storm. We're getting the remnants of Hillary now. Some wind, rain, and thunderstorms but that is about all.

Currently there is no technical solution to our global energy needs. According to Nature internet is estimated to be 20% of total power consumption. Fusion energy, often hailed as a saviour, has proved to be too hard for us humans. From what I've found the fusion itself was quickly solved but scaling it up was problematic. Now the problem is, amongst other things, that too many neutrons are created. This is destroying the inner wall and polluting the fusion chamber.
Wind energy is great but turns kinetic energy into heat, adding to the reduction in wind speed. Same is for solar but if you use roof surface, the heat would have been created similarly. The enormous energy demand on one hand and the capacity of solar and wind on the other is the elephant in the room.

The need for all the plastics is questionable in my view. Most are totally unnecessary and there are biodegradable alternatives. Ev's should be made so they can be recycled, not like the ones that are currently produced. I could go on, but what I would like to get across is that we can do things differently but we are stuck in our ways.

Incorrect. We know we can do it, we just haven't got some pieces figured out yet. We're less than 10 years from figuring it out.

And all the capitalists can do is think "What profits can we make today and tomorrow? Fuck the 2030s or later. Hell, fuck 2025". They combine all this with a new Cold War mentality against Russia and China. They are ruining human civilization, all because the capitalist system has no answers to our problems.

Even the Democrats are thinking "How can we pass the financial burden of green policies onto the working class and middle class, and off the profits of the corporations?". That, in turn, will mean lots of people turning against the very idea of "green policies", since they are being asked to pay the price rather than the super rich. More culture war nonsense over climate.

The epicenter was about 3 miles away up a neighboring canyon from my house. It lasted about 15 seconds and was a "wiggler." Most of the aftershocks are "thumpers." We had a strong aftershock about 4:30 this morning. "Thumpity, bumpity, wiggle wiggle wiggle."

Loads of fun.

Meanwhile BSG has her eye on that power pole down the block that might get sprinkled on and cause havoc to her interdweebs.

Because we only got a lot of rain on the Westside and no high wind, the damaged pole was fine. It sounds like the folks out in the desert got the worst of it.
