A Twisted Plot

Matthew:

"... I'm a hard worker and I really will do my best to do whatever you ask..."

"Well it is refreshing to meet someone with whom i can have a fresh start. Most people see me for who i portray not for who i am..."

As i say this we walk through a doorway into a nice sized room that is off of the main living room of the suite.

"I hope this will do...i wasn't sure if you would mind staying in the same suite as me but i would like to have you close in case i need anything."

"Well it is refreshing to meet someone with whom I can have a fresh start. Most people see me for who I portray not for who I am..."

Sam felt her tenseness melt away as he replied, leading her through into a moderatly sized bedroom off of the living room, but it was just as tastefully decorated as the rest of the suite and was bigger than the largest room she'd had in her old appartment.

"I hope this will do...I wasn't sure if you would mind staying in the same suite as me but I would like to have you close in case I need anything."

"It's lovely," Sam sighed, dropping her bag onto the bed and glancing around, noting the private bathroom through a door in the corner. "I don't mind at all and you're perfectly right, I should be close, especially while we're getting used to each other...will make the whole thing a lot easier...on the both of us..." She smiled brightly, turning back to face him.

"I should be close, especially while we're getting used to each other...will make the whole thing a lot easier...on the both of us..."

Her smile was mesmerising, i had no idea this would be Mary's replacement. I feel myself lingering a bit to long.

"Well good, I am glad that is settled. Is there anything you need? I mean a few min to relax or something to drink? I have some appointments later in the morning and won't be back till after lunch so i just wanted to make sure you were comfortable." i can't stop looking into her eyes and that smile...this should work out well

"Well good, I am glad that is settled. Is there anything you need? I mean a few min to relax or something to drink? I have some appointments later in the morning and won't be back till after lunch so i just wanted to make sure you were comfortable."

"Shouldn't I be asking you stuff like that...?" Sam laughed lightly, "Thank you for asking...I don't have much to unpack and...and I guess a drink with my new boss would be very nice..." She felt that warm blush rushing to her cheeks once more but somehow managed to conquer it. "But only if you have time..." She added quietly before finishing less than eloquently. "Plus it'll give you time to think of stuff for me to do while you're out...after all, I can't lay around this lovely suite with nothing to do until you get back...I like to be busy"

"Plus it'll give you time to think of stuff for me to do while you're out...after all, I can't lay around this lovely suite with nothing to do until you get back...I like to be busy"

he lauhed with her "I suppose that is your job." now he was starting to feel his cheeks flush for the first time since he didn't know when. "thats a great idea. i will get my notes and we can find somthing for you to do i am sure of it. i'll be right back. i'll meet you in the living room."

he walked back to his room and shuffled through his papers. thank goodness he had a PA his life was in shambles without it. I was just a perk that Sam turned out to be who she did. But be that as it was he needed a drink to calm down so he turned to walk back to the livingroom.

as he walked in the room he saw sam plopped down on the sofa. she seemed completely at ease at that put his heart to rest knowing he wouldn't have to worry about making her comfortable

"so beautiful....what'll it be?"

"I suppose that is your job...thats a great idea. i will get my notes and we can find somthing for you to do i am sure of it. i'll be right back. i'll meet you in the living room."

Watching him walk away, Sam sat down on the edge of the bed and removed her boots before wandering into the living room and collapsing on the sofa. Once leg bent underneath her, her body in a position of total relaxation. It felt so good to just relax, she didn't know the last time she'd been able to do this during the day...or when she had last felt so calm and comfortable in someone's prescence as she seemed to with Matthew.

"so beautiful....what'll it be?"

Sam felt herself blushing, she mimmicked looking around for someone.
"Did...did someone else come in...?" She laughed. "Well, I don't know what the beautiful people drink...but an orange juice'll be fine for me..." She smiled mischeivously at him.

"but an orange juice'll be fine for me..."

she shot this smile at him that was so....cute but there appeared to be more to it...

"orange juice it is" he walked to the small kitchen in the livingroom and stepped behind the bar. he fumbled through the silly little mini fridge and retrieved two bottles of orange juice.

"hey look at that you drink the same thing all beautiful people drink in the morning" he couldn't help but laugh as he walked back over and sat in a big cushy chair beside the couch. He reached across and handed her the oj before pulling out his notes.

"Now i will be honest, the biggest problem in my day is that i am a completly usless when it comes to keeping organized and on top of my schedule. In fact if i wasn't who i was and couldn't have a PA i might fall apart and end up in a box downtown."

Sam smiled and took the orange jucie with a quiet 'thankyou', sipping the refreshing drink before carefully placing it on the table in front of her and turning to look at Matthew.

"Now i will be honest, the biggest problem in my day is that I am completely useless when it comes to keeping organized and on top of my schedule. In fact if I wasn't who I was and couldn't have a PA I might fall apart and end up in a box downtown."

Sam giggled, glancing from the sheaf of papers in his hand and up to his face.
"I doubt it'd get that bad but I can take a look at your appointments for the next few weeks if you'd like and draw up an itinerary...that way we can both keep track of where you're supposed to be and what I'm supposed to be organising for you to get you to all the right places..."

She smiled before leaning across and picking up the juice for another sip.
"How does that sound...?"

"How does that sound...?"

where had she been all his life...okay well that may be a bit dramatic but this was going to be the best thing that could be done for him with the trip coming up.

"That sounds great but i don't know if you know what you are getting into. Here is this stack and...." he stood up and placed the sheaf of papers on the coffee table and walked into his room "and here are the rest of them" He shouted from the other room. Once he gathered all the papers into some sort of a stack he walked back into the room dropping them more than placing them with the others... the papers were a mix of bar napkin's, scraps of newspapers with notes on the corners and the odd legal pad where he had tried to get organized a time or two.

"Are you sure you are okay with this?" looking at the pile he worried what she might think or if she would be done by the time they left for the publicity tour.

"That sounds great but i don't know if you know what you are getting into. Here is this stack and...and here are the rest of them..."

Sam felt her eyes widen at the small mountain of papers that appeared on the coffee table before her. Part of her had to wonder what on earth Mary had been doing for the last month or so but then she had been pregnant and Matthew had been involved in post-production of the movie about to be released.
She grinned up at him as he sat back down, looking a little concerned.

"Are you sure you are okay with this?"

"I'm fine with it, please don't worry," Sam insisted. "I like to be kept busy and this will do just that..." She glanced back at the papers and napkins and notepads. "I might not have it finished today...but give me a day or so and I should be on top of things..."

"I might not have it finished today...but give me a day or so and I should be on top of things..."

"Well now that doesn't sound bad at all and take your time.... that was too much wasn't it..." he looked away and was sorry it came out but he couldn't help himself. a shameless pass maybe but he was really begining to think that he was attracted to Sam...

"Well now that doesn't sound bad at all and take your time.... that was too much wasn't it..."

At first the mild innuendo passed straight over Sam's head but then his glance away and thinking back over her words she felt herself blushing.
"Oh...oh I see..." She felt herself smiling a little wider. "Don't worry about it Matthew...these things slip out from time to time...no harm done..."
She heard her own words and realised they were almost another innuendo in the making and giggled. "See, you've gotten me saying things now..."

"See, you've gotten me saying things now..."

"Well then we are well on our way to having a great trip together..." he seemed to let the comment linger as an open ended statment letting her blush to a fuller shade of red and never clearing up the ambiguity.

"... and what is the shame if things slip out from time to time really?" he smiled and took another drink of his juice.

"Well then we are well on our way to having a great trip together..."

Sam could feel her cheeks growing warmer as the pause at the end of his sentence grew longer, his eyes on her face, not moving. She was very quickly finding out that the magnetic characters he portrayed on the screen had a lot to do with his own personal prescence.

"... and what is the shame if things slip out from time to time really?"

"This is true..." Sam smiled, sipping some more of her own orange juice. "So, other than sorting out your agenda for the next few weeks...or should that be years..." She added mischievously, glancing back at the paperwork. "...is there anything you want me to think of as being my responsibility...?"

"...is there anything you want me to think of as being my responsibility...?"

Matthew didn't know what to think exactly. Was she hitting on him? It was one thing if he made leading comments but now it seemed he had met his equal and was eager to see what would happen.

"hmm... well there is nothing i can think of at the moment but i would love to see that left open"

He had baited his hook and wanted to see what she would do. he could tell she was nervous but was coming out of her shell a bit and getting more comfortable.

"hmm... well there is nothing i can think of at the moment but i would love to see that left open"

"Well, I'm here to make sure that...basically...you get everything you want..." She grinned. "So if you think of anything that you need doing...just let me know and I'll get right on it..." She finished the rest of her orange juice, sensing his eyes were still focused on her.

his jaw hit the floor....he had absolutly nothing....she was matthew's kryptonite....beautiful, smart, sexy and wittier than him it seemed. he felt himself staring at her and his face going flush.

"umm yeah...well i will.... let you know when i have something you need to umm...get on"

this was the best he could do? he was embarased and his pants were starting to bulge, a sign worse than a white flag telling her that she had him.

A smile came across her face and he stood up to walk to his room to finish getting ready for his meeting making the bulge in his pants stick out further not to mention being at eye level with sam

"umm yeah...well i will.... let you know when i have something you need to umm...get on"

Sam blushed as he stood and she caught sight of the bulge in his pants, glancing away and smiling shyly. Wondering what on earth could have done that to him...? Not her surely? Maybe it was all the innuendoes...
"I'd better let you get ready to go to your meeting...I'll make a start on these..." She began rifling through the papers before her as he headed to the door. Just as he was about to go through she looked up and smiled,
"Thanks again, Matthew...for giving me this chance...I promise I won't let you down..."

Matthew adjusted a bit as he turned

"Thanks again, Matthew...for giving me this chance...I promise I won't let you down..."

he turned back around looking straight into her eyes

"I know you won't, and i don't mean that the way that it may seem. i have complete confidence in you. i feel like i have known you longer than the few minutes we have been around one another and i already know that i can trust you. That means a lot to me."

he was being as completely honest with her as he had been with anyone in his life ever and he didn't know why. the sense of seriousness seemed to much and uncomfortable just lingering in the air. after a few seconds had passed empty he smiled and continued...

"But as for the other we will see.." he winked and walked into the other room to gather his things

"I know you won't, and i don't mean that the way that it may seem. i have complete confidence in you. i feel like i have known you longer than the few minutes we have been around one another and i already know that i can trust you. That means a lot to me."

Sam smiled shyly, she hadn't expected such a heartfelt and honest sounding response but was very glad that he responded in the way he did. It made her feel much more comfortable in the strange surroundings that surrounded her.

"But as for the other we will see.."

She grinned back as he winked and left the room. Sighing slightly, and trying to tell her imagination not to get too carried away with itself, she looked down at the mass of papers before her and began to sort them. Piling up things in order of the date in which they seemed to refer.

he yelled from the other room..."i am running a bit behind now but do you think that there is any chance i could walk back in there and you would be dressed in black lingerie and begging for me?" he half laughed but was half serious...with her not in plain sight he felt like he could be more bold because his trance was lifted....

he gathered his things and shoved them in a bag so he would look important at his meeting.

"i am running a bit behind now but do you think that there is any chance i could walk back in there and you would be dressed in black lingerie and begging for me?"

Sam choked slightly at the request but felt a wide smile curving across her lips at the same time.
"Er...perhaps not on my first day but give me a few days to settle in and then ask me again some time..." She called back lightly, the fact that he was in another room would hide her blushes and obvious embarassment at the complimentary statement.

"Er...perhaps not on my first day but give me a few days to settle in and then ask me again some time..."

He walked back in the room as she was sipping on her orange juice and walked by her with his bag and looked back as he got to the door.

"friday it is....I should be back in 2 or 3 hours make yourself at home oh and make reservations for dinner for the three of us somewhere....your pick.." this trailed off as he was out the door and on his way

"friday it is....I should be back in 2 or 3 hours make yourself at home oh and make reservations for dinner for the three of us somewhere....your pick.."

His voice faded as the door shut behind him, leaving Sam alone. She poured herself a little more orange juice before getting up and heading into her bedroom, opening her backpack and, after pulling out some clothes and personal things she withdrew a laptop computer.
Sitting back down at the table, she started it up and began entering all of the information into the laptop. Reading every scrap of paper Matthew had placed in front of her.
When she was about halfway through she took a short break and called down to the hotel Reception asking if they could send up a local business phonebook. It arrived within minutes and she looked through to try and find a restaurant for the evening. Selecting an Italian restaurant that wasn't too far from the hotel, she called and reserved their most private table for 3. She was certain that Matthew would want to avoid the public as he'd be in the limelight almost constantly for the next month or so. She booked it in her name, to prevent any leaks to the press and then continued with the paperwork.
Sam was quite impressed when, before Matthew had returned from his meeting, she had inputed the last scribbled note's contents into her computer. She began compiling a diary for him, for the next week to begin with, listing his appointments, meetings, television appearances and interviews. Along with the personal notes he'd made about the birthday's of friends and family members and so on. She also set about making a seperate file for herself, making a little list of all the things she would have to remember to do too.
She was leaning back and enjoying her orange juice when she heard the door to the suite opening. Smiling, she looked up to see who was entering.
