Most people here probably don't know me, but I've been here over a year and made a few good friends along the way. This thread is for them, and for one other very special person.
Back in April...the 26th to be exact, not that I remember such things...I was wasting time in Ally C's "Story" thread. There were several of us playing there, but one by one they left until there were just two of us left...myself and Simply Me. We posted back and forth to one another for around three hours, having fun and making each other laugh. At the end of the evening, I wanted to say goodnight to her and let her know that I'd enjoyed the time we'd spent playing together, but she hadn't put up her email link (there were no PM's back then)...apparently she was worried that she'd get emails from strange guys...heh, as if
...so I said a quick goodnight in the thread instead. The next night, the same thing happened...we spent another three hours in the thread, pretty much alone together again. But this time, at the end of the evening, I saw that she'd put up her email link . Being shy, I wasn't sure whether I should email her or not, but I figured...and hoped...that she'd entered her email so that I would write her...which, as it turns out, she had .
So we got to talking, and many emails were exchanged. We quickly became very good friends, and talked every day. She's such a wonderful, warm, sweet and caring person, and to cut an increasingly long story short we fell in love. I loved her before I ever met her, but we knew that we couldn't be sure of our feelings until we met face to face. So on August 16th I flew a few thousand miles, from Wales in the UK all the way to Alabama, to meet her. To say things went well is an understatement, as I quickly fell even more in love with her. We had such a great time in the two weeks I was with her that I hated having to leave, and soon started making plans to return. A little under two months later, I was back...and I'm still here . I love her so much, she's the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I'm writing this thread to let our friends know that we are now officially engaged 
. You make me so happy, baby, and I can't wait until you're my wife. We haven't set a date yet, but it will be sometime in the first half of 2002.
I just want to thank Laurel and Manu for making it possible for us to meet despite being thousands of miles apart ... and also Ally C, wherever she may be, for starting that thread .
And I want to thank Simply Me...thank you Mel, for loving me.
