Lioness in Winter, if you can't see the insult in this post, you've got some blinders issues. I like you and your posts, but there's no denying that this post was a direct attack at one's appearance.

In all of my time at lit, not once did I make an attack on a person's appearance that posted here. I stand by that. I think attacking one's appearance is uncalled for. I think it's the kind of insult one reverts to when they can't think of anything grown-up to say. Little kids and teenagers instantly go for the "fat" insults or the insults about someone's nose, skin, appearance or whatever. It's juvenile. It's mean-spirited.

Look, dick, it's really simple.

I don't know much about Lavy. To be completely honest, she's not my cup of tea. We wouldn't spend hours in a coffee shop in discussion and we would likely end up killing each other on a date. She's abrasive and she's blunt and she says what she means.

But she shares two critical differences with Lance on the boards. First, she's apologetic when an apology is warranted. There have been exactly two times when she jumped in my shit on a thread and she was way out of line. Not even a day later, she sent me a very detailed and well thought out apology. Both times. I have seen her in open threads apologize to Lit members on more than one occasion.

She is also not vindictive. She has had more than one person do just what you are doing now excepting that they had the guts to use their actual screenname. She took her lumps, defended herself if she felt it was warranted, and went on her way. She did not harangue that poster from thread to thread. She did not use tactics I haven't seen since I left the fifth grade to gain some sort of internal superiority over them.

So no, I'm not a big fan of Lavy. But she has earned a great deal of my respect. That's far more important.

a lot of people have known lance for quite a while with the posts he made on the BDSM forum ... a lot of good people left literotica as a result ... without getting into that or picking sides when i saw lance was posting on the GB i was automatically wary of what he can be like


the thing with lance is in my opinion he's not a troll ... he posts some excellant posts and a lot of stuff i read from him i like and i like him ... but then he still comes out with this other stuff i don't know why he does it ... and i don't know why people seem to so easily ignore it ... its fine to just ignore trolls ... they are just trolling but lance is what i'd call a normal poster so im surprised he doesn't get called on it more often

I don't know if this is the case for anyone else, but i suspect that most people don't say anything about Lance because they realize it's pointless. His reaction will always be to attack and his attacks will always be in the same vein.


Of course, he only attacks to defend himself....... after he edits out the original offensive, tasteless statements he made that started all the shit.


It's much simpler to ignore the Lance's of the world.

I don't like Lance. I do agree with lavy's assesment. And I have to agree with JMJ's post. lavy's own style has sometimes gotten under my skin.

But there's a huge difference. lavy will comment on people's ideas, thoughts and such. Lance has proven many times to be a milder version of LordLunkhead. Being nasty for nastiness sake. Anyone who cannot see this difference is a moron, plain and simple .. or has an entirely different agenda on hand - i.e. delighting in bashing lavender .. which would put said person in Lance and Lunkhead's category.

Why haven't I personally said anything about it? It's useless, really. I've started more threads than I care to think about talking about unnecessary unkindness. The only reply I was received was that I needed to grow up and realize that the world wasn't a nice place.

My new resolution: ignore the nasties. They'll screw themselves over eventually.
