Greetings everyone!! I just finished my bi-monthly or so addition frenzy to our Library and i came across a few things that occurred to me as i was traveling through the threads.

While clever subject lines are wonderful, they make finding information nearly impossible! *grin* Out here on the board, a clever subject line makes me go hmmmm, let's check that out! In the library....i'm gritting my teeth wondering where oh where is that post on whatever it is that i'm looking for! LOL. It's a personal preference, i know, but a clear, straightforward subject line makes life alot easier for our new friends to figure out what in the world we are talking about (and some of us old friends too!)

Repetitive threads abound on certain subjects near and dear to our hearts. The wonderful submissive and slave issue, for instance. We have a couple of threads in the library on this issue, and others on slavehood as well, that would love to be bumped up for discussion....they contain alot of valuable information that could be added to and discussed. This issue is only used as an example, and is not meant to disrespect anyone. A simple check of the Library can forestall repeating threads.

Along those lines, threads in the library are ALWAYS available to be bumped up for discussion. They aren't just static, like books in a traditional Library. If it looks interesting to you, and you feel that you have something to add, and feel that the Community at large would be in to discussing it, then by all means, bump it up and see where it leads.

Thanks for letting me be of service to you as your Librarian :rose:

If this board is like others I've been involved with, Anelize, the reason people don't bump old threads back up, and would prefer to start new threads repeating old topics, is that people often don't wish to post to a thread that already has 4971 replies, simply because they don't have the time, or can't be bothered reading through them first.

I do agree with you, and did think of these things while i was writing that particular paragraph in my post. However, being the forge-ahead, straight-up person that i am, i decided to go ahead and include my thoughts. Folks will do what they like, regardless LOL.

Thanks for your thoughts :D

Great job , anelize!!!!

Another thing...if someone is reading an old thread and a post catches their eye for discussion....

They can quote just the post to start their own thread!

:)

Well I know that some folks find reading a post for information a challenge, lol.

Oh yeah, I will definitely make you work for it!

I, too, want to jump in here and thank you for all your hard work with the Library. After posting my intro when I first arrived here, the Library was my very next stop and it has been a HUGE help to me.

This place is not only great for discussion with people who have much more experience than I do (and some days I feel like that is everyone LOL), but I love the sheer volume of information I have at my finger tips.

I thank you all for the compliments :rose: I'd like to remind folks that I simply maintain and add to something that wonderful NemoAlia created. I love that we have the Library, and think that it is part of what makes us a Community.
