Take a moment to remember the 2974 people who died on 9/11, the 200 who jumped to their death, the brave rescue people, and the heroes aboard Flight 93, and the brave men and women still in harms way.

It is a sad day...hopefully those left behind have begun to pick up the pieces of their lives and heal.

Catalina :catroar:

A :rose: for each of the family who have lost their loved ones on this sad day and hopes they are healing.

Thank you WriterDom for bringing this to our attention. I've been wrapped up in my own stuff today and hadn't even given a thought to what the date is. :(

forgive me, please, for this post

I was here in the city - with lots of friends with lots of stories - and it's a little intense to see this in a porn site with hopes of healing under pictures of shining asses

I'm really sorry that you feel that way. No matter what our kinks are we still all hurt and hope for the best for others.

:( i was still living in Philly at the time...i remember the mayor of Philly thinking that we were next.

I deeply trust that the sentiments are heartfelt. It's the images that are inadvertently created that got to me.

one of my Master's best childhood friends, Mike, died on that day, walking into his office in the Pentagon, probably not thinking that it was a day different from any other. i know the focus is always on NYC on this day, but lots of good folks died here in D.C. too and they should never be forgotten.

i was in my freshman year of high school. i was also home alone becuase i was sick that day and watched everything happen on the news live. i saw my father (an EMT and former fire lutenient) on the live television news coverag, running towards the smoking building while everyone else ran away. at first i wasnt sure it was him becuase he was wearing a white helmet, but i later found out that he had taken the helmet from a construction worker he passed on his way to the site.

the camera fell and smashed in the chaos. i couldnt get in touch with my father for hours and hours. i was terrified. i kept running the short scene i saw in my head. was it him? it looked like him. im sure it was him. but it couldnt be...could it?

my father ran first triage until the second tower collapsed on top of where they were set up. he told me it gave the term "run for your life" a whole new meaning. now, with the second tower down, he started again and set up second triage as soon as the smoke cleared a little. in his words "if you were close enough to get a broken arm, you were dead".

after few hours of this he handed the reigns over to someobody else, and started making his way home. as he put it, "your mother would kill me if i died, so i set things up, gave in impromptu lesson on how to run triage to everyone i could find, and then dissapeared into the shadows."

i called him a few minutes ago to tell him how much i loved him and how proud i am of him. since this happeed hes been recognized by senators and local legislators. our living room is full of citations. and hanging in the place of honor in his office is the white helmet he credits to saving his life when the twers were coming down.

its a tough day for me and my family to get through but i thank god that he is alive.
