Prok roast? Whats Prok?
some kind if newfie dish?

Turkeys may be the stupidest animal alive, so I am not feeling bad for them too much, but why the fuck is it that so many people feel the have to have that for Thanksgiving? Tradition??? Oh fuck that. The Pilgrams and Natives had phesant and other small foul. I doubt that turkeys of today even existed back then. The tradition probably only stems back as far as the 1920's at most so what's the big deal?
Oh well, sorry for the rant. But even at that.. it is such a mess to do a whole bird (oh, I know. I've done them before for my family).

Koalabear has it right by doing just the breast. I would only do a breast cut though, if I had folks who ate meat around.
A whole bird is a pain in the ass! If I have meat eaters at my home, I serve meat, because I am not a vegitarian for shoddy ass reasons like "Because it is wrong". I am one for much greater and complex spritual, and health reasons.
Hell, My dog gets a choice steak every other day, and tuna fish the other, along with potatoes, peas and carrots, ground up steralized egg shell poweder and brewer's yeast, because I know it is the only really healthy way to feed an omnivore with carnivorous overtones.
He is one of the healthiest dogs I know.

Anyway, Fortuneatly, I don't have anyone coming who eats meat! YEAH!!!!!!

Okay here it is..

Apple Raisin Cornbread stuffing
Roasted Red, White and Blue Potatoes and Herbs
Baked Acorn Squash with honeybutter
Roasted Soy protien and veggie bake
Homemade bread
Buttered Rosted Corn
Harvard Beets
French Fried Onion/Green Bean Casserole
Mashed potatoes and gravy

PECAN and PUMPKIN PIE!!!!!

Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Fruit Salad

Harvest Rice (a casserole with sausage and veggies baked in a pumpkin)
Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie
Apple Raisin Walnut Pie (one reg and one no sugar because dad's diabetic)

We add a new dish every year too, just don't know what this year.

Isn't it odd how we plan this meal Months in advance........well except those of you who make the same thing every year.

Sage & cranberry dressing stuffed Chicken breast
Praline sweet potato casserole
Smashed yukon potatoes W/baby carrots
develed Eggs
Cranberry sauce
Hawaiian sweet bread
Buttered shopeg corn
and whatever else I find in the pantry that I think someone (anyone) will eat.

filling
Pecan Pie
Something Chocolate ......usually extravagant and way to rich
Amish Friendship bread

I'm kind of a Freak when it comes to Thanksgiving Dinner...it must be homemade and I don't like any help.............your welcome to come in the kitchen and drink wine with me just don't touch anything! Any other time the more the merrier.

Can I have your pumpkin roll recipe?

I don't let anyone help me either... I adopt a "If you touch that pan, I will remove the offending body part with this cleaver" attitude. But I'll let anyone set the table and do the dishes. :D
