Immunity lottery ball thing

Hi all.
Just wondering I went on to the Lotto site for the immunity dealie, and I was bowled over with all of the directions. Is there a quick and to the point way of explaining this to me.

What is it that we have to hit, and how do we know when we've hit it?

I see if I can give it a try. lol

Depending on where you live, you'll have to work out the time zone thingy on your own, but by Midnight Wednesday morning in London we can go to the "lotto" web site mentioned in the Rules and Scoring thread.

The largest picture of numbers are the ones we use. By each Tuesday you must decide what number you want for the lotto drawing. If you wish to keep your number the same, tell Chicklet you want it "rolled over". That way she'll know you wish to keep your number. Also, if ever you want to change it again you can. Just make it clear to Chicklet by that Tuesday.

Hello everyone. Well having submitted My one story in this area long before I went back through this thread again. The Non-English category I screwed up. I can speak french better than writing it. So I wrote a story posted it in both english and non-english after running it through a translator. The english version did fine and for those of you wondering no I didn't include it in My points area. But the Non-english one got trounced in feedback.

I didn't realize how scattered and broken up the damn translator thing made My story. I am still leaving it though but I will never ever attempt that again. I felt and feel embarrassed for submitting it now knowing it was butchered so badly. But in My defense it was edited in the english version. So if they hated the french version and saw it was destroyed the reader should have gone a few lines up and read the same story in it's english edited format. HEHE.

Lesson learned....Use your immunity's or beg the swede to translate.

Since this thread is 8 pages long now I'm not digging to see if this has been covered

If one submits a story to the Holiday contest, is it allowed in Survivor too, or no?

yeah.

when you submit a story to the holiday contest it'll ask what category you want it in - holiday isn't an option. you just put in the notes that you want it in that particular contest. the story will count towards whatever category you choose to put it in. for instance my valentine's story Release At Last was in the contest and is counting towards Romance.

here's the easy way.

1) find the current immunity thread

2) reply to it and say "give me a ** (number) and roll it over!

3) check on wed some time after 1 pm pacific (don't know what time that is in other places) and see if I've listed your name as a winner

4) if I listed your name, say "I want *** (category)"

That's the easy way = )

Chicklet - sorry, I'm sure you were hoping this whole thing would die down, but one clarification - however one translates one's story, it can't be used for points in both non-English and another category, right?

correct

no story or poem can earn you points in more than one category. each submission must be an original.

Hello! :D

I've read the Immunity rules and I think I'd like to join this part of the contest as well. :) May I have number 13 as well? It's always been my magickal number!

Being the nosy person I am, I got curious to see if the link to my anonymous reader contained any sharp comments about the same Anonymous who has been leaving me comments, so I clicked on the link - and got to the main Lit page, where you login.

Is that intentional?

No, it's just a major programing error on the board. Some three-digits combinations are censored and replaced by *** because they probably stand for some internal code. It's a huge pain, but these numbers pop up once in a while. 6-5-3 seems to be one of those numbers. Type it without the dashes: ***. See? ***. ***. ***. Just can't be done... (well, it can but requires some imagination: to my [er... Chicklet's] anonymous reader)

;)

then you make yourself a scoreboard?

If it's not too late to join, can I pick 22 for my immunity number?

you sure can - it doesn't count towards this weeks drawing, but it'll count towards next week. would you like it rolled over?

So, since today is Wednesday the number will count for April 16th? Yes, I'd like to hang onto the number so I don't have to remember to call one each week. ;)

This is week 15, and I still haven't got even ONE lousy immunity. 37 weeks more to go. Come on! I don't WANT to write about transvestites and hypnotists!

okay, folks, here's the thing. i want all non-english comments and questions in the "non-english" thread, so we don't clutter this one up, ok? As I read it, it seems that sometimes these posts get nasty, and I don't want any hostility in this thread. Not that I want it in any thread, just that if I can keep it out, let's keep it out. Since it is a serious discussion, I'm moving it.

2003 Survivor NonEnglish Discussion Thread #2

I think everyone knows my opinions. Please state your arguments for or against me and my ideas in that thread, and we'll see what happens, okay?
