That's 3600 lights on my little 7 foot tree...

I did the math.. my god..

do you think that could be a fire hazard? :( ;)

nope

I have 20 strings of 300 left, drop by and ya can have em. Hard to decorate on crutches.

but i use multi colored bulbs, looks like you favor white.

ahhh yes.. white is my color... *L* I have a collection of Coca Cola ornaments.. multi colored lights don't match.. ;) and it's all about matching.. I'm anal about that.

Usually husband puts strands of white lights across the roof of the house..(makes it look like its covered with snow) but the roof is bad (poor mom, has to replace roof, while I go out to find a house to buy) so we decided against getting up there and doing any damage (we damage we pay to repair, so why risk doing damage.. right?). Anyway.. we have 100 strands (mostly 300.. but a few 150) still in storage. I'm out of places to put them.. so i guess we are done for the year *L*

Why are you on crutches?

He got a stress fracture of the heel, jumping off of vettes to fast!!

;) :p

that is one hell of a nice looking tree you got there FG!
it looks great. just keep it well watered so it wont dry out.

I took pics of my tree and house tonight, so if i'm not feelin too lazy tomorrow, i'll post 'em.

i think your tree looks great freaky woman!

my biggest light snafu this year (other than the bulb burning out thing) was thinking "no way the fence in the front yard is more than 70 feet long, i only need two boxes of lights"... the fence is well over 100 feet long. :( now i have to figure out a new lighting scheme.

danger woman

FG way cool tree but you're a major fire-hazard. Keep that sucker well watered.

gordo

considering the tree was freshly cut.. yesterday.

It's not dry.. and I check the water hourly. So it's well taken care of. My thermostat is lowered.. so the air isn't to warm.. It hasn't even started losing needles..

Oh.. and I read an interesting article.. they say to add NOTHING to the water.. like aspirin, flower preservatives or bleach. It actually dries the tree faster. Plain water is all that is needed.

The only hazard is if you have more than 6 strands of lights strung together, if you use a specially designed lighting plug in (available at Lowes and Home Depot usually) you should be safe. Just make sure to unplug all of the lights on the tree while watering, and unplug the lights when you go to bed as well.

The tree looks beautiful, and I'm betting that it really lights up a room.

Nope.. we never plug lights into each other (except outside).. trust me.. Husband and I have been doing this along time.. and we know what can and can not be done.. *L*
