There's no such wording in the Constitution.

True. Establishment of religion is banned. No funding or instituting churches. No making them official. But gov't gets to decide if you're REALLY a religion when you want to break hate and zoning laws, get tax breaks, imbibe illegal sacraments, etc. A sex cult might not qualify.

Some folks don't get that the church-state wall isn't to protect state from church, but the other way around. When religion is official, the Bureau of Religious Authority gets to regulate, regulate, regulate. It'll make the VA seem speedy and efficient.

One thing: All public officials (and military recruits) must take an oath of office, vowing to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Those placing a bible or other sacred stuff above the Constitution violate that oath and should be disqualified or removed. Those who don't serve We, The People, are scum.

Thanks for filling in the gap in my knowledge.

My God! This, about the post that started it all:

I'm sick and tired of people spinning things to their own ends. I have been applying reason to the politics and media interpretation of Presidents I both liked and disliked since Nixon. That these days, if you choose to point out the hypocrisy prevalent in the 'Hate Trump' era, you are attacked for not being in mindless lock-step - "No! You can't point that out! You have to hate Trump all the time or you're a racist, evil, child-taking hate monger."

Fucking enough already. I have a brain. I think. I know things, and I am reasonable. Sorry, but I lock-step with nobody.

It's called 'intellectual honesty', and people need to get that back.

I made that post when on TV, I saw a blogger busted for claiming that photo was taken recently - also another photo of a crying little boy in a cage - except that THAT photo was staged as part of an anti-Trump demonstration.

I know, many people will take that post as some kind of tacit approval of the policy, and to that, I can only say, "Fuck off."
I agree with you. Some folks just run their mouths just to run their mouths. I've known folks who, if I said the sun rises in the east & sets in the west, would argue the point just to pretend they have something to say.

That's what politics is all about.

Or some people just completely disagree with him.
