I’ve used the word cunt about 5 times today. Out loud. Which I never do.

I rarely use that word for some odd reason, maybe a few times a year at best lol

Something or someone irritating you today?

Or is it just one of those random things? 😂

I've unfriended friends and family on Facebook and in real life who support this kind of evil. I don't want myself or my children around others who think that this is somehow justifiable.

People make me sick.

I agree. And I really don’t want to see it here when I’m just trying to look at hard dicks or whatever.

Then again, I’m not the boss of Lit, so I’ll just have to look away. Meh.

When a country is built on theft of land, rape, genocide, slavery, complete decimation of multiple languages and cultures, what do you expect? It's one of the smallest sins this country has committed, what kind of wonderland have people been living in

I agree.
But it’s not one of the smallest sins. It’s just out there. Broadcast for the world to see.
I’m not naive. Nor is indie. We are women. That alone opens us up to atrocities.
(I’m not saying you are saying this. I’m providing context.)

Why can’t we strive to be better? Just because it’s always been this way doesn’t mean it has to stay that way.

And that’s it. My opinion.
We suck, we’ve always sucked, we need to change.
I’m gonna go hang out in my oral thread now. :nana:

I do not welcome the “encourage mint.” I prefer the previous tenant of that block

I don't mean Indie or you specifically, but every and anyone who's surprised. After 9/11 this same thing was going on in Texas and a couple other states, but it wasn't reported on a large scale. During the Obama administration bills were passed to stop the separation of family.

When you compare this to:

1. The rape, torture, and Genocide of the Indigenous people ( men, women and children )of this land.
2. Slavery of the African people and every crime imaginable committed against them.
3. Dropping 2 nukes on Japan. That land can't grow any trees or any form of life on that land even today still. People are still being born with deformities in that land still
4. Refusing to test all blood to save money, during the Aids epidemic. Spreading the diseases in the hospitals and jails, millions of deaths were caused. Then when the rest of the world had a cure, the government didn't approve the medicine.

So compared to these, yes it's one of the smaller sins of this country has committed and I have many more examples.

Laughed out loud!

He’s a cunt.
Spit my drink. For real.

We suck, we’ve always sucked, we need to change.
I said that just the other day. The shit storm that brought.

Do what you can to spread love and joy and kindness in your corner of the world, in your small but significant scope of influence, because our country really needs it now, and it's clearly not going to come from the top down.
Well said and words to live by. More of this and we would all be in a better place. I completely agree.

Unless it's Trump, then what Farawyn said.

I'm not saying that any of these things are right etc. However. No's 1&2 were committed mainly by, the Dutch, French, Spanish and British people. The majority happened before the "United States" existed.

I'm not saying that they are not part of the us history, your ancestors etc. But slavery started with the East India company, and the slaughter of indigenous populations was at the order of the European royal families.

The nukes of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, https://static1.squarespace.com/static/54aac5e4e4b0b6dc3e1f6866/t/55c5119ce4b0620bb2eab961/1438978469084/Screen+Shot+2015-08-07+at+4.13.44+PM.pngpeople live there, international health organisation check all the time and birth defects are no higher than anywhere else.
I can also personally confirm this as I've visited Hiroshima many times when I worked for Mitsubishi, whos head office is there.

As for AIDS related deaths, the US have less than 700,000 people registered as dying from AIDS related illnesses. Not millions.

Again I'm not condoning anything. But use real facts or your argument is lost before it starts.

Jesus Christ over the last few days my core opinions of some people have really plummeted.
This is wrong.
I’m not going to argue it with you but it goes to core value of right and wrong.

Comfort food tonight -- delivered -- bacon-wrapped meatloaf, broccoli and mashed potatoes.

Please note that the "e" is included in potatoes when the plural form is presented - that is a joke that goes back to 1984..

At 1776 the USA took control of the country and it continued, if you're talking about # 1 and 2. Mind you it was a colony of England before that and they were in that land committing these crimes before 1776. It doesn't matter who committed the Majority, the USA put the finishing touches on it and continued these acts.

As far as reported number of deaths, numbers are skewed and as you know everything wasn't reported. There was a stigma of homosexuality with this disease and many weren't reported, much like rape( as far as not being reported due to shame ) and I am sure the prisons didn't report all the deaths of Aids. What about all the people who committed suicide, because of this disease and it was put down on paper as death by suicide.

You can't dispute the disfigured and cancerous effects it had on a people. As far as the land, I will concede to this.

As far as not condoning it, when you point fingers at other nations and bring up numbers to dispute atrocities, you are defending the oppressors and diminishing the suffering of the victims. I notice no one does this with the Holocaust or 9/11, but when it comes to the suffering of other races, everyone wants to diminish the suffering and atrocities. It's like someone pointing out you killed, raped, tortured many and you say, but they did it too. Not taking responsibility and bringing actions forth to begin the healing.

I am telling you now, I don't trust numbers that are given to me by the same government that committed the heinous acts we are researching. Would you trust numbers given to you by Nazis, when it comes to studying the numbers of deaths of Jewish people during the Holocaust ? Would you trust a rapists to admit how many people he raped and come forward?

Comparing current atrocities with past atrocities does nothing but damage us all.

The hard truth is it will continue and a couple of months most will forget about this issue. A new scandal will be put on the news or gossip column and the sheep will flock in judgement. The only way to stop this is revolution, people will have to band together in large numbers, sacrifice money to the cause of, boycott, give up daily comforts, block areas that matter ( like airplane landing zones, blocking the white House and Congress ) and have to be prepared to defend yourself if violence is used against you( and it will ). You will have to put your life and the life of your family in danger, because evil people in power will not just give away power.

It's not an easy thing to do and it's a hard choice to make. I am not going to lie, I am not ready to sacrifice the safety of the people I love for this issue. I disagree with what's happening and don't like it. I went to court to help a loved one stay in this country and thank God we won the case. I am a citizen, born in NYC, but I am close to people who were born in different countries and it's sad.

Why is this crap being argued here? Take it to the general board.

No this will be discussed here, as long as someone replies, Lowphat lol. I didn't start the conversation, but if someone responds I will reply. No one has any authority, to tell anyone what to discuss and where to post. The thread is called What are you thinking now-Even more and no one is belittling each other or taking personal shots at each other.
