Day 6: A song outside your comfort zone (aka a song from a genre you don't normally like/listen to)

I'm starting to explore Math Rock because of this song. It's a genre I hadn't really heard of before and find that the complexity is very soothing for my brain.

mouse on the keys - SPACE SHOWER

Day 10 - A theme song that is a great fit for the movie it opens for.

"Rock Around the Clock" -- Bill Haley & His Comets
(Opening song for American Graffiti)

That’s where I grew up, San Rafael California which was selected for its 50’s look and it’s changed little since.

Sometimes I watch it in slow motion just to read the storefronts on 4th street.

Done reminiscing - carry on 🙃

Day 11 - A song about fighting for/defending your country (military service)

Māori Battalion - New Zealand World War II Marching Song

Māori Battalion is a marching song from the 28th Māori Battalion composed by Anania Amohau of B Company in 1940
Composed for the Centennial Exhibition of 1939–40 to represent the contribution of Te Arawa and the Māori Battalion.

Day 11: A song about fighting for/defending your country (military service)
I'm struggling with this prompt, as the American fetishization of all things military and the siphoning of huge rivers of dollars into the military industrial complex has created or exacerbated so many social problems, both at home at abroad. But this is one song I still like.
"In the Navy" - The Village People

Day 11- a song about fighting for/defending your country/military service
This song is more about how the people left behind deal with the loss of a loved one lost in service for their country. On a more personal note, I started driving my dad's truck after he passed away. His country CDs are still in the console and his hunting jacket still behind the seat. I'll pop Hank Williams in from time to time.

Although this show started before I was born and ended when I was 7, I have watched all 275 episodes with my Dad as he has them on DVD. Loved the show and still watch some episodes on Paramount+.
I’m glad I could bring back good memories for you. I was young when it was on but I have fond memories of playing cards with my dad while it was on.

Day 11: A song about fighting for/defending your country (military service)

Woke up to a good group text today. Warmed my heart, it did.

“Thank you all for your service, it was an honor being a tanker with you all 2004-5!”

It was indeed an honor to serve with such dedicated, brave, smart and ingenious men.

To all of the brave men and women of 2/12 CAV, and the First Cavalry Division past and present, I salute you… and all veterans today.

“Gary Owen”
“Always Ready”

Of course they saved the tanks for last…
