Oooo how about when they ask about the items your buying.
‘Tried this yet?!’
‘Oh that’s so good!’

Ooooommmmgggggg.... I hate that.
Especially when cashiers want to comment as they check me out.

I'm sorry, Diane, this isn't the Target comedy hour. 🙄

Haha! I get the checkout chit chat a lot, but i don't mind. 🤷 We're a small town, everybody chats everywhere, for better or for worse.

I hear what people are saying about the chit chat at the register. But, my irritation has been about something else there.

When they chit chat with the person in front of me, then when it's my turn, they start chatting with the person behind me before I can even get my items on the counter. Petty? Perhaps. But, it just grates me the wrong way. "Hey, we appreciate your business, and yours, but not yours."

If I want to be ignored, I'll sit at home and try to boss around the cats.

Simple answer. Nothing!

Disagree.

Simple question. What makes you interesting?

I'm not sure I can answer that for myself. There's lots about me that I think is interesting, but which apparently bore other people to tears. But there are other things that I think are fairly unremarkable but some people tend to be drawn to. So, yeah... that's my non-answer.

Simple question. What makes you interesting?

Which doesn't have a simple answer. Having two ears and one mouth and using them proportionately is a good start. I'm pretty well educated which is as much due to grammar school and high school as it is to college. That let's me contribute on a fair variety of subjects and be more curious at the same time. Almost all of my friends are smarter than I am in something, some in almost everything. It's surprising how few people seek out smart people, you can tell from their loneliness. And don't get me started about men who don't like smart women.

Simple question. What makes you interesting?

I've wrestled with this kind of question quite a lot over the years, but I'm feeling more comfortable answering it nowadays. That said, it's one of those questions where I feel like there'd be something to be learned from hearing what other people, who know you well, think makes you interesting.

Perhaps I re-frame it as 'what makes me notable', since what's interesting to me may not be to you, but still, here goes, and I'm trying to answer as much for my own sake as anything else:

* I read the news. I obviously don't catch everything, but I do try to keep up with current events, through multiple outlets. I can converse on at least a surface level about a fair number of things.
* My views are not fixed in stone. Now, obviously some are moreso than others, but broadly I'm open to changing my mind when discussing things. I'm also open to new experiences, and to learning in general.
* I'm creative. I'm a curious chap (in every sense :) ), interested in a lot of things. I have to be for my job, but I generally like to toy with words and ideas, and I've been told I tend to notice details that are less obvious to a lot of other people. I'm not slow at this, either.
* I'm fairly playful, once I get to know you. I'm very comfortable being silly, but also comfortable being serious.
* I'm a hard worker. If I'm honest, obsessively so, sometimes to a not terribly healthy degree. If there's something I want to do, I'll dig in and chip away at until I get there. But, I have a hard time relaxing so I tend to find ways to stay mentally (puzzles, personal projects) and physically (exercises, albeit not very well structured - I'm enjoying learning on this score, though) active when I have downtime.
* I don't need people around me to be motivated for anything I want to do. I'll do my thing with or without community.
* I'm capable of being waspish as fuck :D

Simple question. What makes you interesting?

Simple answer. Nothing!

Dammit, Indie!! You beat me to that answer. Lol

But it's not fake humility. The truth is that we are all unique and interesting. Which in turn is refuting by itself. If we're all special, then no one is.

In a crowd no one is interesting. But one on one we are each infinitely so.

Thanks be for PMs where that intimacy can grow.

Simple question. What makes you interesting?

I like the way AlpineFresco answered this question..."what makes you notable"

* there is more to me than meets the eye. most people underestimate me. As my profile states... "complicated woman... not a flibbertigibbet"
* I love learning new things. By this time in my life, this means that I have a rather large assortment of odd knowledge about lots of different things
* I follow the news. I do not follow sports (though I try to pay attention enough to manage small talk about sports when necessary). I think current events are important and I try to get my news from more than one reliable source. I have sometimes said that "politics is my sport" ~ however... these days I feel like the current political events are so crucial to the lives of some many, this understates the gravity of it all
* I am obsessive. About lots of things. I believe my level of obsessiveness makes me good at my profession. It might make me a little hard to live with or work for, though I recognize that others may not value the level of quality and fastidiousness about work that I do.
* I am a nerd. I love literature, poetry, history, fossils, museums, art, geography, philospophy
* I am a life long person of faith. I do not expect anyone else to believe what I believe and I do not believe that what I find to be "true" in my faith life is true for others.
* I love the wilderness. I can happily live in remote primitive places without technology or outside support for months at a time
* I am a submissive (but not YOUR submissive), I am no doormat. I am a feminist. I value manners. I love to bake and prune trees. I am a rope bunny. I am a reader and a thinker and a writer.
* I believe in life long learning.
* I have notably long hair. I doubt this actually makes me interesting.

Simple question. What makes you interesting?

That's a simple question with nothing close to a simple answer.

I'm probably the least interesting, or (at minimum) the least unique person imaginable. I don't have anything to hang my hat on that could make me interesting or particularly memorable.

I think milquetoastocity (creating vocabulary as I go) is just who I am. Or what my perception of myself to be is at any rate.

I wish I had an answer that wasn't that...because that would, at least, be interesting.

Simple question. What makes you interesting?

The wonderful thing about tiggers
Is tiggers are wonderful things!
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs!
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about tiggers is
I'm the only one
Tiggers are cuddly fellas
Tiggers are awfully sweet
Ev'ryone el-us is jealous
That's why I repeat... and repeat
The wonderful thing about tiggers
Is tiggers are marvelous claps!
They're loaded with vim and vigor
They love to leap in your laps!
They're jumpy, bumpy, clumpy, thumpy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about tiggers is
I'm the only one

Any questions? Why am I interesting? Because I am the only one me.

Thanks to everyone for some really thoughtful answers.

I think what makes us interesting to others is rarely what we find interesting in ourselves.

I'm curious. I have a wide, weird variety of interests. I have had a life with a wide variety of experiences. I'm funny. I'm (mostly) nonjudgemental.

That's what I think. Ask someone else and they may say something completely different. I like interesting people and therefore enjoy being interesting to someone else.

I think thats for others to decide, not me. I dont necessarily think im.that interesting or have much that sets me apart from anyone else, but there's people who enjoy my company so there must be a little something . Again thats for others to comment on.
