True story. Shirley was my first wife's favorite. We went to 3 concerts in a row...front row. Shirley spotted us and ask...didnt I see you the last 2 nights. My ex was all fawn eyes but i just shrugged and smiled. She invited us onstage, so I lifted my ex up. She danced w her and even got a pretty fucking long kiss. I got laid that night bigtime.

Piggyback question!

For those people who are uncomfortable with sharing their faces, do you judge people who do? Do you look on the face thread or prefer to avoid faces altogether?

I am one of those who is not comfortable with it. I posted once in the Show Your Face thread and was told in PM, fairly quickly, that there are Litsters out there who save copies of all of the personal pics that people post. So even after pics are deleted, someone has a stockpile of all of the face and bits pics posted.

That creeped me the fuck out and put me out of that game.

I try not to judge people who post their pics - I think everyone who does it is brave. I don't entirely understand the motivation behind doing so because I don't think the reward (compliments, positive affirmations, etc.) are something that resonates with me in the same way. I try to keep that in mind before I get too judgey wudgey. But I'm human - there are definitely times when I think "Wtf?"

But then I remember - different strokes for different folks, y'all. :)

There def are people who do this. One time I regretted deleting a lot of pictures I had posted in AMpics and someone told me to message this one poster for them. Sure enough, he sent me every picture I ever posted... not only stuff I had in AMpics, but also things I put in random playground threads like Show Your Faces, and also my avatar and profile pics. We had never spoken before.

Ewww thats creepy

And that's just one Litster. I've heard of several who do the same thing. Someone told me they posted something that said "I have always wondered what <insert name> looks like" and within 2 minutes had a PM from a random person with that stated person's photo attached.

Yikes.

I judge everyone at all times. :D
I like people who post their faces and I wish I had the balls to be that forthcoming, but it would tame me a little and I don't want that. I'm not willing to give up my identity like that, but I love that other people do. However, it is also kind of fun to guess what people look like based on their AV/profile pics.

It's fun either way.

I'll look on the face thread and I appreciate those people who are braver than me. I've never sent a face pic and don't know that I ever will. I've never asked for one either.

I will say that seeing his face was sort of the downfall of every other boundary. Anyone else like that?

(I mention because not show your face is a very common boundary on lit, and even though I used to have an ampics thread in my previous life, I do question when someone isn’t concerned about their privacy)

I share my face only once in a great while. Usually I just put it in my profile. Then take it down quickly. Only people I trust and know well get to see it more frequently, and off Lit, like in Skype or something.

I can totally see why people are leery, especially if your SO doesn't know you are here, or if you are in a profession that could be damaged if you were "outed". Like a teacher, or coach, or preacher. ;)

I'm not any of those things, and don't generally share explicit photos anyway. So I'm less concerned. But I do appreciate those who share, as it's nice to be able to put a face to the name.

I've never posted my face on Lit. I've shared it with lots of people. But never posted it. I'd rather not give someone the ability to save my face and make the obvious tribute pics that would follow. Or Hitler mustaches and devil horns affixed to them.

I don't judge those who show their faces. In fact, I like seeing faces. It's nice.

Plus, Melania would be pissed if I had another scandal.

That is the creepiest thing I've read in a while. WTAF?

I enjoy seeing everyone's gorgeous face but understand why people don't. I haven't in a LONG time and don't plan to. No judgment from me but there are lots of creeps out there.

I am uncomfortable with it because I am so good looking and muh fuckas be hating.

My fear is some weirdo will try to pass my picture off as them because they are ugly and I am so handsome. That and maybe my mom might see me here. Except my mom is not a pervert like you sickos so fat fucking chance.

Ha ha ha!

I have never seen anyone i know on Fet. Maybe this will be my lucky year! :nana:

You just have to look harder.

It is. You get to see your old HS teachers, and everything.
I changed my age to 99 and my location to Antarctica.
Now I’m mostly left alone.
Mostly.

oh, now how can I not. Mr. Goodwin, the I am quite sure always stoned long haired hippie English teacher who would regale us with poetry while he strummed his acoustic guitar. And oh oh Mr. Braddick, the long haired hippy biology teacher who always had his dress shirt unbuttoned to his belly button displaying his chest full of silver hair adorned with his long, beaded, shark tooth necklace. Yeah, I so have my hobby for the next week. I actually really enjoyed these teachers, but God, I bet the shit they had going on behind closed doors would be some sights to see.

Good morning! I hope everyone who celebrated had a nice Valentine's Day. How about something a little simpler this morning?

What's the most underrated food to pair with chocolate?

That's a really tough one. I feel like most pairings with chocolate are quite highly rated. Nuts, fruit, chili, salt, pastry, bread, cream, and countless more, all celebrated. I guess... maybe courgette, or potato, or something like that? But specifically I'm talking in cake form - those things can be delicious.

But if you're meaning a straight pairing, and not herbs/spices (cause I'd go with basil/green cardamom), I'd say probably cheeses. There's a whole world of pairings to discover right there.

Well, I am a big fan of chocolate and wine, oh and chocolate and vodka, but I think most underrated would be chocolate in savory. Like mole sauces on meats and vegetables. As far as more simple savory pairings, I think some of the more interesting, surprisingly good, but easy, would be potato chips, spicy peppers, and bacon.

I know some people are fans of chocolate and beer, but I don't get that. I found the chocolate craft beers that I have tried too bitter and very disappointing. I expect something from alcohol and chocolate, and those beers were so not it.

Avocado and chocolate. Topped with a fresh basil leaf. All I can say, wow...this is what? Avocado and chocolate...blow me away...
