Day 22: A song from the 10s
The Queens. Seen Sharon and WT so many times! Never got a chance to see Nightwish with Tarja though. Annette and Floor. It’s almost like NW is three different bands with each of their singers.

Day 23: A song from the 20’s
(+1 = 40)

Tobias Sammet had a vision. While on tour with Edguy, he began writing a concept album. A metal opera. He wanted the stories and fantastical lyrics of the classical opera, combined with the symphonic melodies of heavy metal.
It took two years, and a lot of string-pulling, but when Avantasia: The Metal Opera was released in 2001, it did so to unanimous acclaim and has been repeatedly ranked among the greatest metal albums of all time!

Featuring 10 different singers from the metal world, legends like Michael Kiske, Kai Hansen, and Sharon den Adel, the album tells the life and story of friends Gabriel Laymann and Lugaid Vandroy, and the tale can only be described as Epic. It's worth every second to sit down and listen to it from start to finish.

It's been 25 years since Tobi began this project; an album which was intended to be a one-time-thing has instead created a phenomena. Almost 60 different metal gods have featured on the 10 albums released since then, names like Alice Cooper and Dee Snider are sure to raise an eyebrow or two, and nearly all music and lyrics has been composed by Tobias alone. The man is a machine.

If you've never had the pleasure before, then please. Come, sit, listen.
Join Tobi and Floor for a paranormal evening with the Moonflower Society.

Wyvern Lingo sounds like it should be another Celtic metal band. Nope. It is a trio with Caoimhe Barry on vocals, drums, and guitar; Karen Cowley on vocals, synth, and bass; and Saoirse Duane with vocals and guitar. The harmonies on these songs are wonderful. Just something sweet to finish Irish Decades week. After doom folk, I need it. (Oh, and go listen to The Widow Knows EP. It is fucking brilliant, but too early for this prompt.)

"Things Fall Apart," Wyvern Lingo. (Multiple women +2, Irish band +1 =3)

I don’t know this artist but digging this song.

Stop stealing my lines! :ROFLMAO:
Honestly, I'm quite often surprised by all of the smaller Canadian acts that you do know... when I think, 'not many people are going to know this one', and then it turns out that you not only know them but might even have a personal anecdote about seeing the artist in question live, or something. Respect. So I was excited to see you stumped, except unfortunately, I was as well. I had to look Charlotte Cardin up, myself... but I was also about to say that I was "digging this song" in spite of my unfamiliarity. So to return from whence we came... 'stop stealing my lines.'

LEAH - Archangel

One of my favourite genre of music is Symphonic Metal, fronted by strong female vocalists. One of these women is Leah McHenry, likely not a name people recognize.

Known as "the metal Enya" she is a Canadian Celtic songstress that weaves a lot of fantasy in her songs which is always a good way to hook me.

I've only come across her music in the last few years but her vocal stylings captivated me and hopefully it does the same for you.
