Mmmh. Still going to be a no from me. It's a nice scene albeit heavily tinted by that 80's look. Movies to me are not a purely visual medium, so no matter how good one may look, it falls flat if there's not a well crafted (and to some degree Understandable) story to support it. I never could get in to David Lynch...

Good enough. I won't beg.

Well, that isn't true...

Point of order: Prince didn't cover it until well after Sinaed. It was written by Prince, but originally recorded by one of his protégé projects (and he had a lot of those), The Family. However, the lead was sung by St. Paul Peterson, so it still counts.
It’s not a cover when it’s your song, also if you are going to give me music pedantry, have it be correct pedantry

Oh, an excellent song choice, Rosie!
I almost picked a cover of that song by another female artist...
But I won't say more, because I don't want to break the cardinal rule (lol).
I've never heard this version before. Very cool. A fantastic selection!
It was in the beginning montage of the Black Widow movie. It's a good job really as I had a complete blank on any other songs for today

Discovering Fanny has been one of the highlights of my time on Lit. I missed them when they came out.
I’m glad you’ve dug into their work. Fanny is a band that I’ve been championing for years. They honestly belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame under the pioneers category. They are so directly linked to the launch of female rock bands, because Kim Fowley assembled The Runaways as a direct result of seeing Fanny and knowing that an all-female band could work. Without Fanny, there’s no Runaways, and the ripple effect cascades from there. Luminaries such as The Beatles, Bowie, and Streisand were big fans of theirs. It’s a travesty how they’ve been lost to time, although they’re finally starting to get some recognition for their place in history in some corners of the industry.

Yesterday was international women’s day and I missed that one but let’s make up for it today.

Day 9: A song that’s originally done by a man, but covered by a woman
Originally by Prince, I’m loving this version at the minute though as it shows her emotion and power in it (hopefully adding the link works as not sure how you all add YouTube stuff)

And it goes out to @morelikeasong for throwing this massive curveball that failed to register anything in my catalog that qualified.
What a cool cover! And thank you for the dedication 😍
I’m glad it made you dig a little deeper.

One, the greatest drum break in music history.

Two, on being overplayed, I am not sure most people understand how ubiquitous Phil Collins was for a time. He played drums for a couple of Robert Plant's solo albums, played on Adam Ant's album, played on Eric Clapton's album, had a top-selling album with Genesis, a top-selling solo album, a duet with the guy from Earth Wind and Fire, the lead in a movie, an Academy Award nomination (for "Take a Look at Me Now," not his movie), played drums for the Band-Aid supergroup, and played Live Aid, which had simultaneous concerts in England and Philadelphia, both on the same day. This was all in a three or so year period. He was everywhere, in a move that only Taylor Swift has been able to pull off. And the results were everyone came to hate him. Honestly, he is really underappreciated as a drummer. Go back to the early Genesis stuff, he is scary good.

This has been your Useless Phil Collins Facts of the Day, from your Font of Useless Knowledge...
Thanks for all the Info..
