There was a computer game called Planescape: Torment. Outstanding, creative game. But the soundtrack reminds me a lot of The Mandalorean's. Similar soundscape.

I just want to say I am sorry in advance.
I have brought you my least favorite genre of music. Uptempo.
The reason I can't stand uptempo is that I have very sensitive ears and there are frequencies in here that cause me literal physical pain.
This song has an absolute rug pull of a drop. It goes from promising to painful in one squelch after about 1:05.
If you vibe with uptempo, there might be something wrong with you.

High Energy by Evelyn Thomas gets my award because it represents that whole Hi-NRG scene and sound that was popular in the UK in the early/mid 1980s.
I mean, I was scared to go to gay clubs not because I might have found out something about myself, but because they might be full of such music. It was made of the worst, cheesiest offcuts from failed disco with a guileless four to the floor beat and glitzytack production with no subtlety. It's the very poor Eurotrash relation that spoils the lineage between Donna Summer and Chicago house. Urgh! It was hideous.

Our local grocery store has the most absolutely vapid, mindless, jingoistic schlock playing at the front entrance every time you walk in. It keeps getting cringier every time I have to hear it. This is at the top of the list of those songs that makes my skin crawl.

Seven-year-old me actually liked this song. I remember singing along to it in the car and waiting for it to come on the radio. I would listen to it on WABC radio when they were THE VOICE of top 40.
There is nothing about this song to be enjoyed by me. Well maybe a tiny bit, I am listening to it now and I am having a microsecond of nostalgia. This is everything that me and punk rock are against…
