Almost no one can, not the way Buckingham does it. This is an incredibly difficult song to play.

The interesting thing is that it sounds like a straightforward I-V Travis picking pattern. But dear god it’s not. The timing of those hammer-ons and pull-offs is really hard. And he plays it live. And sings it.

I’m a pretty proficient fingerstyle guitar player. This song is hard.

Rumours is truly one of the best albums ever written.

I can Travis pick, but not like this. He makes a 6string sound like 2 different guitars
I did some sound engineering, and I am a percussionist rather than a musician (heh), but I had a guitarist explain to me one time how complicated the finger picking with the chord shapes are to pull off at speed, along with the polyrhythms. He was a remarkable player, professional for years, and still couldn't do it the same at speed.

When Lindsey left, they replaced him with Neil Finn and Mike Campbell together.

This is an unbelievable song. Imagine someone writing this scathing breakup song about you. Imagine it being your bandmate. Then imagine singing backup vocals on one of the greatest fuck you songs of all time. Stevie Nicks certainly fucked around with some of the most famous rockers in all of rock history, but she took her insults like a champ and sang some fantastic backing vocals on one of their best songs. Mr. Buckingham is just superb on this song in ever my way.

If you really want to hear more about the song’s technical pieces, take a listen here.

Sorry for the brief thread derailment @morelikeasong. If you need to spank me or anything, we can discuss this later. I’m graphic detail.
And then Buckingham works to keep Nick's song about her side of the break-up, and arguably one of the finest songs she had ever written, off the album for spite. Then they put it as the B side to "Go Your Own Way" as a single. This was one of the most beautifully fucked up albums in the history of music.

Needed 2 players. There must be someone in the world that can emulate it

Day 22 - A song with a five word title

This is in my "why did they have only one album?" list. And I kept coming back to it in my mind. It is pure, beautiful, late 90s joy, and it is distilled hope for four minutes and 43 seconds.

But when the night is falling
You cannot find a friend
You feel your tree is breaking
Just bend
You've got the music in you
Don't let go

We all need to hear that once in a while.
