Pound for pound, I like their second record more than their first, but they are both fantastic records. I remember being just completely stunned by Shirley's voice on this song especially. Decided on this live version here because 1) I love the little breakdown in the middle, 2) The solos come through stronger here than on record, and 3) Shirley founds lovely here, and is also a whole ass snack in this look.

I read an article 20 years ago talking about how in the 80’s and 90’s you were either a U2 person or an REM person. Back then I would have sided with U2 but REM has grown with me far better.

Technically rain doesn’t appear in the song just the title. Am I missing the prompt?
