Day 10: Your most played band of all time
Metallica.

It has taken me a few days to figure it out. They are the only band I have consistently listened to from the first time I heard them in my early teens. The first full song I learned to play on guitar, the songs I could sing or yell along with because they covered all my moods, the songs that kept me going and sat with me in the dark. I can't think of any other band that has journeyed with me through life. I'm grateful for their company 🖤

Fade to Black - Metallica

This song is the most haunting I've ever heard. The first time I heard it I could have skipped the lyrics, listened only to those instruments, and known exactly what it is about.

That's a very tough one to work out, but in terms of long-term influence and interest, I'm going to settle on Crowded House, and associated solo albums, spin-offs, and their predecessor band, Split Enz. For song choice... there are a few that work for Literotica. "Whispers and Moans", for example, is about being in a hotel room and listening to a couple bonking through the walls. "Into Temptation" gives you the chills. "I Feel Possessed", "Better Be Home Soon"... lots of them. But the prize goes to the song with the very direct title and the references to cumulonimbi and volcanoes...

Crowded House - When You Come

At my age this is hard, being musicly eclectic even more so. I went with who I had the most records, tapes, CDs, and playlist of as well as experienced live the most... wasn't as hard as I initially thought..

The Eagles "One of These Nights" is one of favs.
