  1. Do you make wishes on your birthday candles before blowing them out? Would you care to share what your last birthday wish was?

  1. What's a goal or dream you've been hesitant to pursue? What's holding you back, and what's one small step you can take towards it?
I can't think of one, I'm not really one to hold back
  1. If you could write a letter of appreciation to someone who deeply impacted your life, who would it be and what would you say?
I've written a few letters like this. We all can, there is no "could", you should tell people how they've impacted your life. If they've already passed away, write it anyway.

The last I wrote was to a youth leader who made a huge impact on me as a teen. She was ornery, brilliant, full of life and defied every moring of patriarchy in the kindest most Christlike way. She had metastatic ovarian cancer. Her husband wanted me to come read it to her, rather than just receive it in the mail, so I got in the car and drove 4 hours. It was worth it to see her smile one last time.
  1. Describe a time when you experienced a deep connection or understanding with another person. What made that moment special?
This weekend, with my oldest friend. Just knowing that we're still here for eachother, no judgements, no lies, just knowing she's always in my corner, and I in hers. It's a rare thing.
  1. If your life had a theme song, what would it be and why?
That's going to be a tie between Tom Petty-I Won't Back Down, and Sia-Elastic Heart

Do you make wishes on your birthday candles before blowing them out? Would you care to share what your last birthday wish was?
Enh, sometimes but not really either. More in like a joke kinda way.
You discover a spider in your kitchen. What do you do?
Vacate the premises, that fucker can take over the mortgage.
What is your favorite comfort meal?
I honestly don't know. I really like pizza, I don't think that counts as comfort food though. A good soup, I suppose.
What is something about which people have a misconception?
About me? About life in general? I don't know that I have a great answer for either of those things though.
Where do you feel the most at peace?
Usually on a run or on a bike ride. A safe, no cars around, bike ride. I've taken to stopping a bit more when I run to take in some form of beauty around me. Sights, sounds, general sentiments of "hey, it's pretty cool I get to do this."
Finish this sentence. My favorite _____ is ______.
My favourite Brooklyn Nine-Nine character is Captain Holt.
What are you looking forward to?
Lunch.
What was your last memorable encounter with something found in nature?
Ummm, good question. Likely a coyote running right down the street when I was out for a walk. Thankfully he had already found lunch.
Hidden talents or hobbies? Something you are trying to master?
I like to play guitar and sing a little, but I don't really do that in front of anyone. While a few of you have maybe heard me, it's not something I share with a lot of people.
If you could make grilled cheese sandwiches with anyone alive or dead, who would it be? And what is your grilled cheese recipe?
Mae Martin or Tom Green. It would be a delicious cheese sandwich. This an IYKYK kinda thing from a Canadian television show.

I don't have anything fancy, but you gotta have a combination of melty cheese and funky cheese. And even melt some in the pan so it sticks to the edges and gets crispy.
Who are your heroes or heroines, real or fictional?
They would all be close friends or family. Certainly had some sports ones when I was a kid, but real people doing real things get me going more than professionals.
Are you optimistic about the future?
Yes. It's best to stray to the side of optimism.
What is a smell that stops you in your tracks?
Uh, good or bad. 😂 The sea or rain, likely. Maybe BBQ.
If you could come back as any organism, what would you come back as?
I'm the wise words of Jamie Tartt, I'm me. Why would I want to be anything else?
What is something new you’ve done recently
Running without music. Not always, but sometimes. It was scary at first but it's kinda alright.
What's a small, seemingly insignificant thing that brings you immense joy or comfort?
I think we should look for these things more often than we do because often they are more significant than we think. A really good iced coffee comes to mind.
What's a goal or dream you've been hesitant to pursue? What's holding you back, and what's one small step you can take towards it?
I don't really know, I'm doing some fun and difficult things this year, but I can say, usually what's holding us back is ourselves.
If you could write a letter of appreciation to someone who deeply impacted your life, who would it be and what would you say?
I actually did this recently and it was a more rich experience than I expected. I'll leave what was said between us, but I will say that I think it's good to tell people who impact your life greatly these things. You've probably impacted someone's life in a way you didn't even know. Maybe you don't even remember the interaction. It's something we should talk about more.
Describe a time when you experienced a deep connection or understanding with another person. What made that moment special?
Kind of the same as above. Sometimes you vibrate on the same frequency as another being and you just connect in some way that hits you both in the same kinda way.
If your life had a theme song, what would it be and why?

That or Yakety Sax.

Questionnaire
Let’s (high)lighten the mood! I love a good questionnaire, especially one that allows for some creativity. Below you will find 20 questions. Yes, 20. That’s a lot. You do not have to answer all 20. You can answer whichever ones you want to answer. We won’t judge.
Loving everyone’s answers! Here are mine.
  1. Do you make wishes on your birthday candles before blowing them out? Would you care to share what your last birthday wish was?
I sure do. I take my wishes seriously, too. I will stand there and let those candles burn halfway down if I need that time to think of a good wish. I also wish on stars and my eyelashes if one has fallen out too. I can’t remember exactly what my last wish was, but if I told it, it wouldn’t come true. I think the last wish I made that I told to someone was about the Nats winning again and you’ve seen how well that’s worked out. 😬
  1. You discover a spider in your kitchen. What do you do?
It depends on what type of spider. First of all, all spiders will live, it just depends where. If they are little spiders, and they are up high and out of the way, they can just carry on catching mosquitos and such. But if it’s a big spider, I might need to call for backup to catch her and put her outside please.
  1. What is your favorite comfort meal?
This is easy. Artichokes with hollandaise sauce

If I’m making a larger meal out of it , add a nice ribeye steak on the side with a glass of Malbec.
  1. What is something about which people have a misconception ?
That standardized testing scores are an indication of the teacher’s effectiveness as an educator or the students’ knowledge.
  1. Where do you feel the most at peace?
At the beach. One special beach in particular.
  1. Finish this sentence. My favorite _____ is ______.
My favorite flower is a Hibiscus. 🌺
  1. What are you looking forward to?
Celebrating my mom’s 80th birthday.
  1. What was your last memorable encounter with something found in nature?
I guess I’d say just noticing the vast differences in the beautiful landscape in California vs on the East coast where I live. It’s also beautiful but just so different. It was amazing to think that this is all the same country. One day, I’m among lush green rolling hills and rivers, and the next I was among redwood trees and mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
  1. Hidden talents or hobbies? Something you are trying to master?
I like to crochet. I wouldn’t say that I’m very good at it. But I enjoy it. I can crochet long, straight things. But nothing with sleeves or turns or anything that has to be a specific size. Nope. But you want a blanket or a scarf? I can handle that. 👍🏼
  1. If you could make grilled cheese sandwiches with anyone alive or dead, who would it be? And what is your grilled cheese recipe?
Oh man, I’m trying to come up with a better answer than Julia Child. @SimonSex that was a great answer. She just looked like such fun to do anything with, and a world class chef to boot!

And this was a ploy to get all of your grilled cheese sandwich recipes. I have no fancy recipe. I just put butter in the pan, add a nice crunchy bread, some melty cheese, et voila!
  1. Who are your heroes or heroines, real or fictional?
My first heroine that I remember having in a book was Leslie Burke in Bridge to Terabithia. She was a social outcast who did her own thing and befriended Jess, another main character in the book. She ran faster than everyone, she was brave, and I just loved her, and the book broke my heart into a million pieces. It also solidified my love of reading.
  1. Are you optimistic about the future?
Yes. Worried but optimistic.
  1. What is a smell that stops you in your tracks?
The beach, ocean air
  1. If you could come back as any organism, what would you come back as?
Maybe a capybara. They seem pretty happy go lucky and chill.
  1. What is something new you’ve done recently
I learned how to rewire a lamp today!
  1. What's a small, seemingly insignificant thing that brings you immense joy or comfort
When I clean out my car and vacuum it and use armor-all on the dash and seats. And it’s looking really nice. It makes me feel so happy and I really enjoy it for days and days.
  1. What's a goal or dream you've been hesitant to pursue? What's holding you back, and what's one small step you can take towards it?
Starting my own business. I don’t know that it’s viable. I don’t know if the outcome will be worth what I put into it. In other words, I don’t know if I will make enough money to justify it. I know I won’t make the same amount of money/get a regular paycheck like I am now. A small step I could do would be to really crunch the numbers, I guess? But it would still be speculation, I think. Also right now, I don’t think it’s smart to give up a steady paycheck.
  1. If you could write a letter of appreciation to someone who deeply impacted your life, who would it be and what would you say?
A member of my family who stuck their neck out for me when everyone else on that side of the family wrote me off. They didn’t have to do that but they did anyway and it was brave and kind.
  1. Describe a time when you experienced a deep connection or understanding with another person. What made that moment special?
It’s rare, so when it happens, there is a powerful emotional bond. I also think that this may be why I have a hard time really letting many people in. It’s linked with trust and forgiveness for me.
It’s hard to describe an example. It’s a feeling. When I know, I know.
  1. If your life had a theme song, what would it be and why?
I Put a Spell on You ~ Nina Simone

Because I could only dream of being as timeless as Nina Simone and this song is sexy and fun and I love it.

Questionnaire
Let’s (high)lighten the mood! I love a good questionnaire, especially one that allows for some creativity. Below you will find 20 questions. Yes, 20.
Actually, it's 21. Q1 has two parts. But you didn't say only 20 questions. So we're both right.

Yes.
  1. Would you care to share what your last birthday wish was?
Ahem. 👀

Hmmm. Lasagna?

That Islam is backward.

The return of Dita!

Bwahahaha. Nice try. I have been offered blowjobs in return for my grilled cheese sandwiches. You want them? There you go.
  1. Who are your heroes or heroines, real or fictional?
Until recently I'd have been another who said...plenty of people I like and admire, but no real heroes. But now? Ben Stokes. Goodness. I've never even met the man, and he makes me want to run through brick walls. Proverbially and..maybe even literally.
  1. Are you optimistic about the future?
Yes, actually :)
  1. What is a smell that stops you in your tracks?
The acrid stench of burning copies of A La Recherche Du Temps Perdu? Oh, all right. Orange blossom.

Those are private moments. My exhibitionism, such as it is, only extends to what I'm doing, not what I'm thinking and feeling.

...or

Because sometimes, however polite and patient we are, we need to tell the world to fuck off and that we've had enough. And I'm going to do that with style, panache, attitude, and a top Eb.

  1. Do you make wishes on your birthday candles before blowing them out? Would you care to share what your last birthday wish was?
I haven't had birthday candles in years. I couldn't tell you what my last birthday wish was. It was probably made 2 or 3 decades ago.
  1. You discover a spider in your kitchen. What do you do?
Capture it, take it outside, release it.
  1. What is your favorite comfort meal?
Meatloaf and mashed potatoes
  1. What is something about which people have a misconception?
The Bible. The number of common sayings that people think are Biblical that aren't anywhere to be found... "Cleanliness is next to Godliness..." "God helps those who help themselves..." "God works in mysterious ways..."
To say nothing of all the times I've heard people insist "The Bible is clear..." then say something about sexuality, abortion, crime, etc., when the Bible is anything but clear (or, is sometimes even clearer in opposition to whatever they're saying).
  1. Where do you feel the most at peace?
At home on my couch.
  1. Finish this sentence. My favorite _____ is ______.
My favorite pie is strawberry rhubarb.
  1. What are you looking forward to?
Seeing "Moulin Rouge" on Broadway for the 4th time next month. Wayne Brady and Taye Diggs are joining the cast.
  1. What was your last memorable encounter with something found in nature?
Umm... we had flash flooding a couple nights ago that fucked up our town real good and left my wife stranded on her commute home for 8.5 hours. Nature can be a real asshole sometimes.
  1. Hidden talents or hobbies? Something you are trying to master?
My only hidden talent is that I can cock an eyebrow. Which is pretty dull as far as talents go. But other than that I'm even duller.
  1. If you could make grilled cheese sandwiches with anyone alive or dead, who would it be? And what is your grilled cheese recipe?
Ugh. Does it have to be grilled cheese? Fine... just know that I'm loading it down with LOTS of bacon (to drown out the taste of the cheese). And I'll make some tomato soup to go with it. Which is a very cold-weather indoorsy lunch. So I'll share it with Anna Kendrick, who seems like she enjoys being indoors with some comfort food and something to binge-watch.
  1. Who are your heroes or heroines, real or fictional?
"Heroes" is a strong word. But people I admire... Rachel Held Evans... Nadia Bolz-Weber... and Weird Al Yankovic
  1. Are you optimistic about the future?
No.
  1. What is a smell that stops you in your tracks?
There's a Brazilian BBQ joint a couple blocks from my house. When the wind is blowing in the right direction and we can smell all the roasting and the grilling meats... I just have to stop what I'm doing and salivate like one of Pavlov's dogs for a good minute.
  1. If you could come back as any organism, what would you come back as?
Owlbear, of course.
  1. What is something new you’ve done recently
I've applied for a few new jobs. Does that count?
  1. What's a small, seemingly insignificant thing that brings you immense joy or comfort
When my cat falls asleep on top of me.
  1. What's a goal or dream you've been hesitant to pursue? What's holding you back, and what's one small step you can take towards it?
"Hesitant" is the wrong word. The one dream that we're working towards is home ownership. But we gotta either hit the Powerball or the market's gotta crash something fierce.

Say It Ain’t So…
On Friday, there’s a possibility that many Litsters in UK will not be able to access the Lit website due to some restrictions on sites with adult content. Maybe it won’t affect Lit at all. Maybe VPN can be a solution to this issue. Time will tell. But if it does, a huge section of our Lit community will suddenly be missing.

Most likely, you can find various ways to connect with those you’re close with here off of Lit. Or the Discord Lit at Night is another viable option to consider. But, neither of those will replace the original Lit.

My question is, what makes Lit LIT for you? Why have you stayed, or keep coming back? What are some lessons about yourself or others that you learned here? (This isn’t an invitation to call out anyone specifically. I mean this in a very general sense). Are you, or would you be happy if Lit just ended or was taken from you? Can you see any up sides from not being able to visit this site anymore?

Whether you are among those awaiting the new legislation to take effect, think about how you found this site. Looking back over your time here, what stands out to you as memorable? Is what you remember the most the reason you came here in the first place?

I'm very much out of the loop, this is really unfortunate. :(

I've left and come back before. Both were for safety/well-being reasons. I had a legitimate stalker a few years back, and recently felt unsafe again, and it was affecting my mental and emotional well-being. So why did I come back?? 😂 I have friends here that I keep in touch with still. I'm on the discord platform but rarely ever use it.

I'd be fine if lit ended, now that I have my contacts off Lit as well. This space isn't the same to me as it once was. 🤷I don't have attachment to it like I did.

what stands out to you as memorable? Is what you remember the most the reason you came here in the first place?
I came here originally to write, and I did for a long time, but I've lost that spark for awhile now. I had my own writing thread, an experience thread during a time in my life when I was exploring a kink pretty deeply, and I published a number of stories.

I miss hanging out with my OG friends who are no longer here. I had some fun writing experiences in one of @catherinewheel77 's old threads, and lots of flirty play in AmandaLee's playground thread.

I know it's different for everyone along their Lit timeline. I'm not on here much as it is anymore, but if it disappeared I'd spend less time looking at smut. Or find another place to read smut.

Good luck everyone, I hope to those who may not be able to access this place anymore that you have another safe space to share and explore, and people to keep in touch with if desired.

Another good prompt. After initially joining Lit, it took me awhile to return and actually check out the site -- I found navigating the different threads confusing and it felt like I had entered a surreal, opaque, and truly bizarre funhouse. I met some interesting people but soon found myself being ghosted or correspondences would suddenly end over minor disagreements. I appreciate some of the people who I have met on here -- and I hope real friendships may develop and emerge from these pages. If Lit went away, it would be nice to stay connected to some people on here. I hope they feel the same!

I appreciate Lit for the people that I've met and for threads like this one where self-expression is valued and where I find myself interested in learning what others think and appreciate their sharing of ideas. It's why I joined -- hoping to make a human connection. I love the idea of wanting to really know a person through their words and ideas -- there's something truly decent about that. I've also appreciated the sexual banter and exploration when it has been done respectfully and with some care. Lit does serve as a diversion in our lives that can be useful... it can be informative, entertaining, racy and exciting on some small level.

On the downside, it can also be time wasted with endless hours of scrolling. The addictive nature to any kind of social media takes away from real-life interactions. The constant notifications and seeking out "likes" (which I have to admit to doing on the Daily Song Challenge can become addictive and hard to put down. I sometimes feel like a high school student, counting up my "likes." It's silly on some many levels). I hate being distracted by Lit... I hate losing my focus and productivity--especially when there are other things I know I should be doing.

It's also bothersome to hear of others talk about really bad experiences on here. You hope people would be respectful and treat others with kindness, but there are many dishonest brokers, charlatans, and grifters on this site and I have had to learn some hard lessons on here. Overexposure, misinformation, a general nastiness... A Springsteen lyric comes to mind over some encounters on this site, There's just a meanness in the world.

You hate to feel that way, but it's true. This site is no exception. I guess the cliche is "moderation" allows you to reap the benefits of Lit while avoiding the negative effects. We all know this to some degree. All that said, I so appreciate some threads like this one and I enjoy people who are intelligent and positive people. I gravitate towards your words and cling to them. Thank you for being here.

I seem to do this, although I wouldn’t say I “Lit” in moderation. I’m as addicted as anyone else and I do waste a good deal of time scrolling, but usually only between doing actual things. 🤣

Either way, I rarely see the negativity that gets discussed a lot and I wonder why that is. Maybe it’s because I keep an emotional distance while oversharing my every thought and sexual impulse?

I’m one of the people who tends to use the “in real life” term that can set people off. Although I realize we are all real people, we are also only partial people here. No matter how honest, straight forward and not phony we are, or claim to be, on Lit we are still only sharing the parts we choose to, so how “real” are we? I still don’t know the answer to this and I know the whole question is troublesome to some people, but I still wonder.

Anyway, what was the question? 🤣

I come here for the people, for the sexual stimulation and for the general flirting and fun that Literotica is.

I am glad that you took some time for yourself and I was also glad to see you back. I hope that you are feeling more comfortable now.

If this happens to any of us brits, we all know it's Comrade stalin Starmers doing.

However Tor Browser will easily bypass it as it has a free builtin VPN.

Brave browser may also work.

(Trust me, im a network faults analyst / engineer for the UKs largest Internet provider) 😀

What a fantastic descriptor!
I met some interesting people but soon found myself being ghosted or correspondences would suddenly end over minor disagreements.
I wonder how often it would be because of other life commitments too? I feel like there’s such a transient nature of people’s online time that sometimes causes abrupt endings. I try to not take things like this quite so personally as I once did. (Just my thought)

Thank you. I am very happy with how this thread has turned out and I love it when anyone joins in with their thoughts. It’s slow moving and that’s fine with me. I like to think about things a bit and process…I’m glad that you’re enjoying it too.
On the downside, it can also be time wasted with endless hours of scrolling. The addictive nature to any kind of social media takes away from real-life interactions.
Yes. I agree. Especially if I’m feeling some anxiety over something, this isn’t a healthy place for me and I will take a break. And I’ve been feeling a lot of tension as of late, so maybe a break is a good idea.
The constant notifications and seeking out "likes" (which I have to admit to doing on the Daily Song Challenge can become addictive and hard to put down. I sometimes feel like a high school student, counting up my "likes." It's silly on some many levels). I hate being distracted by Lit... Yes, when it gets to be at the forefront of your mind most of the time, it’s time to put down the phone for a while.
It's also bothersome to hear of others talk about really bad experiences on here. You hope people would be respectful and treat others with kindness, but there are many dishonest brokers, charlatans, and grifters on this site and I have had to learn some hard lessons on here. I’d venture to use the word heartbreaking. And I’ll leave it at that.

Moderation! What a novel idea! Who woulda thunk it? ;-)

I’m glad you are here too. Thank you for adding your thoughts. And such wonderful words.

Either way, I rarely see the negativity that gets discussed a lot and I wonder why that is. Maybe it’s because I keep an emotional distance while oversharing my every thought and sexual impulse?
Maybe that’s something to think more about- how good/bad are we at separating emotion from sex? Then depending on that answer, how successful are we at handling the pitfalls that are common on Lit?

Things that make you go hmm 🤔
