'Indian Larry' Said Killed at Bike Show

CONCORD, N.C. - A custom motorcycle builder known for his appearances on cable's Discovery Channel died Monday at a hospital of head injuries suffered during a stunt, officials said.

"Indian Larry" fell off a motorcycle Saturday while performing before 8,000 people at an arena outside Charlotte. He was not wearing a helmet, the officials said.

Indian Larry was standing on the moving bike when it began to wobble and went out of control, said Mike Downs, Cabarrus County deputy manager. His full name was not immediately known.

"Indian Larry was a man with great skill and talent as a mechanic and metal sculptor," said Robert Freeman, chairman of the county board of commissioners. "He will be truly missed by his fans here in Cabarrus County and throughout the nation."

Indian Larry, who appeared in movies and television shows, was featured on a Discovery Channel series in which motorcycle builders design and build bikes from scratch, then have them judged by motorcycle aficionados.

Fuck you, asshole.............

This bears repeating.

Indian Larry was a true artist and one hell of a good sport. He will be missed.

All the Mr. said was, "Well, he died the way he wanted to die... on his bike and never tied down."

It's pretty sad though.

Hey - The man lived the way he wanted to, made his choices, and in the end, died doing what he wanted to do.

Enough.

I apologize AC...

If you knew about Indian Larry what I know about him all these years, you'd realize what a loss this is........

How he died is of little concern to me...he could have slipped in the bathtub, it doesn't matter....

Being an artist is oversold.

I think he is a candidate for the Darwin Awards.

Yeah well that stands to reason YOU would think that.

Thanks. It is good to be known for something. I take it that my clear headed reasoning and rationality are what carried the day.

What can I say? The title of the thread is "Another one bites the dust..." The problem was that there wasn't enough dust to soften the impact. It was more like he bit the tarmac. And he was probably doing over 35 mph when he bit the tarmac. I'm sure the tarmac bit back. KE = 1/2 mv^2, I'm sure there was a lot of kinetic energy to be absorbed and he had only so many teeth to bite the tarmac with.

Someone else said that he wasn't tied down. Now if he had been on Lit, and practiced a little B&D, then he would have been tied down and wouldn't have been out biting the tarmac at 40 mph.
