The USMC is a relatively small force yet is one of the most powerful and feared forces on the planet.
The US military as a whole is more advanced and better trained than most others.
The bad ones get the press and therefore seem to be more than they are.

The British are no better or worse when it comes to things like these murders nor are the Canadians or Russians or Chinese. When you have so many thousands of people with guns and power you will inevitably have some assholes who abuse it.

My personal responsibility in this matter is a little blurry. I didn't pick them for the army or supervise them in any way, but I'll take my share of the blame. As a former colony of the nation, you are a citizen of, maybe some of this is your fault too.

When you hire, train and pay people to kill and destroy, you will have things like this happen. When it does, you deal with it severely.

Whining about what happened after the fact doesn't help anything.
