Music Snobs....(check in here)

I should check out Orton again.

Last time I ever heard anything of hers was "She cries your name". That seemed like years ago.

Long much better.

I can listen to Stolen Car eternally, but if not that then Devil Song, Paris Train

Beth Orton's work with Ben Harper is outstanding.

Bartok's "Concerto for Orchestra" by George Szell and the Cleveland Symph is always good in a pinch.

Anything by Son Volt/Jay Farrar.

My wife is a fan of the song I have of her with Beck... I'm not a beck fan but I like it nonetheless.

I second the motion.

Although the Get Up Kids are fun.
Five Minute Mile, reminds me of high school.

:sings in emo girly voice:
"Don't 'wait me, don't hate me..from running away from you..
Don't 'wait me, don't hate me... cause I'm still in love with you."

The first song on the CD is emotionally responding in me too.
But once again, it reminds me of a time and place in my life.

It is nuts that Chad, from Shai Hulud, is or was, when they were on MTV.

Shai Hulud was a great hardcore band.
As well as At The Drive In, before they were Mars Volta.
Hot Water Music is a FLA band, but I actually saw them play in Cinci, OH.
Cap'n'Jazz, another obscure band.
John Frusciante solo shit is rad.
Kyuss, before they were Queens of the Stone Age, a true desert-rock metal band.

'k... that is all for now.

Have you heard Steve Earle with the Del McCoury band? Great album if you like newgrass.

No, sounds good though. I dont really listen to much music, I play a lot of it though. I have been playing a lot of alt cunt. Robert Earl Keene, drive by truckers, Pat Green, Uncle Tup. Shit like that.

Some genius I equate in simplicity, listen to Guero all the way through....
not one song really stands out head and shoulders above the rest, but as a whole it is one of the most listenable and all purpose albums I have ever heard. genius.

(credit must go to the Dust Brothers for this as well)

...electronic music...?

like....techno?

AHAHAHA!

:p :p :p

all electronic music is not techno... the fact that you summed it as that should be reason enough to ban you from this conversation.

p.s. I'm not a music snob. I just have great taste.

ban me from the conversation?

by all means, please do revoke my rights to post in this thread.

it's a sad business, people not recognising that some comments that are directed at others are jesting in nature.

taking life so seriously will give you a premature heart attack.

I didn't see any quotes indicating you were direct your statement to anyone. just a lame post. get over it.

your telling me not to take life so seriously after suggesting i be banned from the -internet messageboard- conversation strikes me as just a tad ironic.

oh, right, so the fact that there were no quotes of course means that i was just making a statement about electronic music, out of the blue, without any particular context whatsoever.

honey you may have tourettes but we don't -all- randomly spout out nonsense. =)
