Judge Orders Arizona to Release List of Registered Voters With Unverified Citizenship​

Arizona’s secretary of state must disclose a list of as many as 218,000 voters affected by a glitch at the Motor Vehicles Division.

A judge has ordered Arizona to release a list of registered voters whose citizenship status was not verified due to a coding glitch in the state’s record-keeping system. Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes has resisted disclosing the list, citing concerns that the individuals on it could face harassment.

In an Oct. 31 ruling, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Scott A. Blaney instructed Fontes to provide the list to Strong Communities Foundation of Arizona, also known as EZAZ.org, a conservative watchdog group that filed a public records lawsuit to access the data.

James Rogers, senior counsel for America First Legal (AFL), which filed the lawsuit on behalf of EZAZ.org, said that the lawsuit was about restoring transparency and making sure county recorders can verify the citizenship status of voters.

“A majority of Arizonans no longer trust the election system of our state. One of the reasons is the lack of transparency from our state’s elected officials,” Rogers said in an Oct. 31 statement. “It is unfortunate that Secretary Fontes so aggressively opposed our common-sense efforts to help restore trust in our state’s election system. This was a case we never should have needed to file.”

A voter in Kentucky sent out a warning on social media this afternoon after a touchscreen voting machine would not let him select Donald J. Trump and his vice presidential candidate, and JD Vance.

In a video he recorded and posted on social media, the unidentified male can be seen repeatedly pressing the oval for President Trump and JD Vance. At one point, the Kamala Harris and Tim Walz choice lights up, indicating he chose them on the touchscreen when it’s clear he is only pushing the Trump-Vance ticket.

Lehigh Valley News reported:

The Lehigh County district attorney is investigating hundreds of suspicious voter registration applications that came in before the Oct. 21 deadline.
District Attorney Gavin Holihan and Lehigh County Chief Clerk of Elections Tim Benyo said Friday that the applications were flagged through the election office’s normal vetting process.

Holihan and Benyo expressed confidence that only legitimate voters will be able to cast a ballot in the upcoming presidential election…
…The situation appears to mirror a case in Lancaster County where officials said officials have identified hundreds of problematic voter registration applications submitted at the deadline. A separate criminal investigation is underway there, and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office has contacted counties to see if they’re experiencing similar problems.

At issue is hundreds of passwords which were posted in a public place on the secretary of state’s website and discovered by an expert of voting system components, only after they may have been public for four months.

“I am regretful for this error,” Griswold wrote in a press release shortly before Judge Kandace Gerdes gaveled in a hearing in the Libertarian Party v. the State of Colorado. Several high-ranking Republicans in Colorado have called for her immediate resignation, one Griswold says she will not give.

The error potentially put the security of the state’s election at risk, with even Griswold’s top ranking staffer unable to state under oath that the security of voting machines had not been compromised.

“I have no information that any unauthorized person has accessed any voting machine, and I also have no information no unauthorized person has accessed any voting machine,” said Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Beall under direct examination by Gary Fielder, the attorney for the Libertarian Party in the matter.

Election Day in Pennsylvania has been marred by a wave of voting machine malfunctions and ballot scanning problems.

Reports from multiple counties, particularly Cambria and Bedford, reveal that voting issues are leaving countless voters frustrated as they attempt to exercise their rights in this crucial election.

Early Tuesday morning, voters across Cambria County and nearby Bedford County were met with malfunctioning voting machines unable to scan their ballots. According to 6 News, voters reported machines freezing and failing to recognize cast ballots.

At some precincts, election officials resorted to placing completed paper ballots in lock boxes, intending to scan them later once the technical issues are resolved. In other areas, frustrated voters were instructed to return later in the day when the machines were expected to be back online.
