Absolutely! I have always believed in them, and spent my whole childhood, and even into young adulthood worrying about what they'd think of me (and my kinky thoughts).... then I finally decided I wasn't interesting enough for them to care anyway.
There have definitely been times in my life where I'm like "oh god I hope none of my dead relatives are standing behind me"

I don't think of it like they're watching me. More like... They still love me but I can't see them and they can't see me. Sometimes I have such strong memories of my grandma it feels like she's with me.
I don't think they're looking at us, but sometimes I'm not so sure, and then yes - distressing as fuck!

Confirmation bias doesn't necessarily agree with what we *want* to believe. Our brains believe what we tell it... So if you're telling yourself something that disagrees with what you want to believe you gotta change the script. I do not believe in ghosts in any meaningful way. But I have had experiences I don’t have a good explanation for with all the science I know. So I absolutely ain’t gonna be that guy going into the haunted insane asylum saying “why y’all so scared? Nothing can hurt you here.”
I have never for a second thought my mom was looking down on me. I think a lot about what would make her proud and that influences me but I never think she’s anywhere being proud (or not as the case might be I guess).

Except in dreams, when I am back in high school and can never remember my locker combination.Here as well LOL! I even remember locker combinations from high school. Still have to occasionally look in a book to remember my login for my laptop though
