Are gay men really given over to bizarre sexual practices?

I mean, more bizarre than homosexuality itself.

There is a stereotype -- which never seems to be applied to lesbians -- that if you're gay, then you MUST be into BDSM, or into kink far weirder.

Does this have any basis in fact?

For instance, if horror writer Clive Barker were straight, would there perhaps not be quite so much body horror in his fiction?

1. Homosexuality is not bizarre.
2. I know several lesbians who are very much into BDSM and what some might consider even weirder kink.
3. I know a lot of straight men and women who are into BDSM and what some might consider even weirder kink.
4. I myself am bisexual, and I am not into BDSM (but I am into kink that some might consider even weirder), but I know other gay and bi men who are, and many who are not.

I'd say your stereotype is just that - a stereotype.

I have had a few tops that liked light bondage but for the part it wasn’t necessary. As a willing sub, my tops use me like they want. I obey and don’t resist.

I'm bisexual and I am into some really kinky stuff. Yeah, I'm probably stereotypical, but who cares.
Not sure who thinks lesbians aren't into BDSM. I know some seriously kinky lesbians.

Speaking as a bi guy, I think I'm probably more open to trying different things that feel good. I don't know that any of them are "bizarre" by any means, by they probably don't fit neatly into what most people would consider vanilla, hetero sex. I don't think that one's sexuality lends them to having any sort of proclivities one way or the other. I'm sure there are just as many people who have "boring gay sex" as there are people who have "boring straight sex"-and just as many who are open to experiment within the bounds of what feels good to them.
