As this is written there are many large demonstrations in Israel for a truce.
Where are the demonstrations in Gaza? Don't they want a truce? They would rather go hungry and die than a have a truce. So be it.
Gazans aren't hungry! Gazans will do what they have to do under the threat of Hamas. Hamas would never allow Gazans the freedom to demonstrate!!! They will do as they are told under this terrorist regime! As Iran dictates, and follow their hate to the end. Have no fear Hamas will not give up. When the Benduin hostage came up from the tunnel that he was rescued from he saw the destruction all around him and said to the IDF soldiers who rescued him, "Good. Raise the whole of Gaza. They are scum." He was treated exactly the same way as an Israeli Jewish hostage. He knows who these people are.

Gazans aren't hungry!
so all the humanitarian workers, the doctors from a plethora of countries, the press from all over the globe and the deaths of the starving are all lies because you want it to be so.

how dare you? do you pray to the same god you claim with that lying mouth?

Brilliant reasoning.

God, you’re a fucking idiot.

Hamas brutally murders 6 hostages on film. Reaction from the UK and others, including allies, the western press, and even some Israelis: Blame Israel.

A Presidential statement:

“I am devastated and outraged. Hersh was among the innocents brutally attacked while attending a music festival for peace in Israel on October 7. He lost his arm helping friends and strangers during Hamas’ savage massacre. He had just turned 23. He planned to travel the world. I have gotten to know his parents, Jon and Rachel. They have been courageous, wise, and steadfast, even as they have endured the unimaginable. They have been relentless and irrepressible champions of their son and of all the hostages held in unconscionable conditions. I admire them and grieve with them more deeply than words can express. I know all Americans tonight will have them in their prayers, just as Jill and I will. I have worked tirelessly to bring their beloved Hersh safely to them and am heartbroken by the news of his death. It is as tragic as it is reprehensible. Make no mistake, Hamas leaders will pay for these crimes. And we will keep working around the clock for a deal to secure the release of the remaining hostages.”

Another presidential statement:

“On October 7, Hersh Goldberg-Polin—an American citizen—was taken hostage by Hamas terrorists. He was just 23 years old, attending a music festival with friends. We now know he was murdered by Hamas. His body was recovered today in the tunnels under Rafah, along with five other hostages.

Doug and my prayers are with Jon Polin and Rachel Goldberg-Polin, Hersh’s parents, and with everyone who knew and loved Hersh. When I met with Jon and Rachel earlier this year, I told them: You are not alone. That remains true as they mourn this terrible loss. Americans and people around the world will pray for Jon, Rachel, and their family and send them love and strength. As is said in the Jewish tradition, may Hersh’s memory be a blessing.

Hamas is an evil terrorist organization. With these murders, Hamas has even more American blood on its hands. I strongly condemn Hamas’ continued brutality, and so must the entire world. From its massacre of 1,200 people to sexual violence, taking of hostages, and these murders, Hamas’ depravity is evident and horrifying. The threat Hamas poses to the people of Israel—and American citizens in Israel—must be eliminated and Hamas cannot control Gaza. The Palestinian people too have suffered under Hamas’ rule for nearly two decades.

As Vice President, I have no higher priority than the safety of American citizens, wherever they are in the world. President Biden and I will never waver in our commitment to free the Americans and all those held hostage in Gaza.”

I know one thing for certain: That reporter should be fired for the way they posed that fucked up question:

"Do you think it's time Prime Minister Netanyahu to do more on this issue, do you think he's doing enough?"

🤔

🤬

Side note:

BabyBoobs is a total POS. for trying to score some cheap political "win" out of this tragedy with a "gotcha" question and answer.

Yeah, it’s the reporter’s fault.

The White House declared Tuesday that its latest, Israel-backed hostage deal proposal includes an IDF withdrawal from heavily populated areas along the Philadelphi Corridor, a day after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared Israel must indefinitely maintain a presence along the Egypt-Gaza border stretch.

“The deal itself, including the bridging proposal that we started working with… includes the removal of Israeli Defense Forces from all densely populated areas… in phase one… and that includes those areas along and adjacent to that corridor,” said White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby in a briefing with reporters. “That’s the proposal that Israel had agreed to.”

seems netanyahu is still not planning on abiding by the second phase of total withdrawal
Regardless, the second phase of the framework requires a full Israeli withdrawal from the entirety of Gaza — a clause that Netanyahu’s Monday remarks appeared to contradict.
In a subsequent briefing with reporters on Tuesday, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said the US has “made very clear what we believe about the possibility of an ongoing Israeli presence in Gaza — that we [are] opposed to it.”

Miller also reiterated Kirby’s comments about an Israeli agreement to withdraw from populated areas along the Philadelphi Corridor, adding that “there are a number of details that require further negotiation to conclude how the parties will live up to their commitments under the agreement.”

Netanyahu virtually rules out a Gaza ceasefire deal and uses map that erases West Bank

Netanyahu told a televised press conference at the end of a day of nationwide protests that he would "not give in to pressure" to moderate demands that are making a hostage deal with Hamas impossible.

Analyst Mairav Zonszein of the International Crisis Group said Netanyahu's remarks showed "he won't stop the war... until Hamas surrenders, and he basically announced there won't be a hostage deal."

Netanyahu "wants to occupy Gaza on some level indefinitely" and was now "just saying it more openly," she told AFP. Despite "huge opposition" among Israelis who support a ceasefire deal, "there's also nobody in the political realm that's able to challenge him."

The Justice Department unsealed charges Tuesday targeting multiple senior members of Hamas' leadership for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murdering of Americans during the terror group's Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

The criminal complaint, unsealed in the Southern District of New York, names six members of Hamas' leadership structure and details extensively their alleged terrorist activities on behalf of the group.

The charges were filed in February and kept under seal because the DOJ was hoping to be able to take Haniyeh and other members of the alleged conspiracy into U.S. custody, a DOJ official told ABC News, who added that it was no longer necessary to do so since three of the six charged are now deceased and given the recent developments in the region.

Hamas and Egypt refuse to budge on conceding control of the Philadelphi corridor to Israel in exchange for a ceasefire.

That ^ says it all.

Egypt and Hamas are determined to keep their illegal smuggling operation going after the war.

Netanyahu may be a corrupt, totalitarian asshole, but he is right about not ending the war unless and until Hamas and Egypt agree to cede control of the Philadelphi corridor to Israel or an Israel approved international security force.

Israel was supposed to be out of there decades ago.

An international security force may be the way forward.

Israel was supposed to be out of there decades ago.

Israel was out of there for almost two decades - and then 10/7 happened.

An international security force may be the way forward.

It’s likely the only way forward short of Israel obliterating all of Gaza to eliminate Hamas.

Bottom line:

Hamas cannot be allowed to remain intact with access to / control of the Philadelphi smuggling corridor.

Full stop.

hundreds of thousands of protesters took to the streets across Israel demanding netanyahu make a deal with hamas to bring the hostages home

Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Massive demonstrations demanding a deal to return the remaining Jewish hostages held by Hamas broke out across Israel late Saturday as protesters flooded into the streets 11 months after the start of the war in Gaza.

One of the speakers at the Tel Aviv rally was former hostage Andrey Kozlov, who spent 246 days in captivity in Gaza before he was rescued by the Israel Defense Forces in "Operation Arnon."

"We cannot allow this disaster to continue. We must demand that our leaders do whatever is necessary and to do the right thing," Kozlov said.

Former Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon spoke at a demonstration Saturday in Herzliya where called for the immediate resignation of Netanyahu's government, according to the Israeli newspaper Maariv.

The government, he said, "needs to be replaced as quickly as possible.

"We are the majority, that's why they fear elections," he said. "We need to prepare for the transition from protest to opposition to the criminal and dangerous government, which, according to all polls, has lost public legitimacy."

GENEVA (Reuters) - The U.N. human rights chief said on Monday that ending the nearly year-long war in Gaza is a priority and asked countries to act on what he called Israel's "blatant disregard" for international law in the occupied Palestinian territories.

"States must not – cannot – accept blatant disregard for international law, including binding decisions of the (U.N.) Security Council and orders of the International Court of Justice, neither in this nor any other situation," the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said in a speech at the opening of the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva.
