I’ve said before I don’t post in the politics forum much. Far too much vitriol and keyboard warrior name calling to suit me and not why I come to this site. It’s off the charts and off-putting.

But while @ll74 and I probably agree on almost nothing in terms of policy (although through rational conversation that doesn’t exist here, we might find something), he’s exactly right re: last night”s debate.

Anyone who says or thinks otherwise either didn’t watch or is in a complete state of denial. It was beyond obvious to even the most ardent of partisans. It was an absolute disaster for 46.

it is time to see younger blood running this country again, but until there's a solid viable alternative i'm content with President Biden/VP Harris... they've achieved a lot, with lots more to do that they need the damned voters to secure the House and Senate if they are to be able to deliver.

The Lit politics board is a tiny sample of highly partisan people and their network loyalties tend to be concentrated among three partisan cable news networks. Fox News draws conservatives, CNN liberals, and MSNBC extreme liberals.

ABC, CBS, NBC draw viewers of all stripes. Roughly one third of the electorate are Democrats, one third Republican, and one third Independent.

Cable is shrinking. Streaming packages play a much bigger role in what us Americans watch these days.

Uh no. That's not what the polls are saying. Again, undecided Latinos in Univision's focus group moved toward Biden. More people in Newsweek's focus group trusted Biden. I think your disappointment is narrowing your vision.

il and I agree on very little but on this we do agree.........Biden is toast. He can't recover from this debacle. The debate was scheduled BEFORE the convention and there is some backroom shenanigans going on there and in time we'll find out. Be that as it may, approx 51 million viewers tuned in during the Summer doldrums. For most of them their political investment until after Labor Day is over. Biden, who was never a big crowd drawer, has zero chance to recover before the convention.
