I'll never understand why compound interest should exist on student loans. If we can't have a European model of higher education, we should at the very least not exacerbate things with compounding interest for students. Charge simple interest and actually give people a chance to make a dent in their loans when they pay them.

Even with above average income … I’d need a 200k down payment to even afford a basic home .. most are $800k and above.

I just finally got mine discharged a year or two ago. I started with $40k or so, ended up with almost $50k forgiven. I was on income based repayment and my monthly payments didn't even cover interest.

But, when I got into a government job right out of school, I decided I'd stick it out for at least the 10 years to get my loans forgiven through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. It sucked at times, haha, but it was ultimately worth it now that I'm in management and actually making somewhat decent money.

I’m an enabler drunk, so I feel like I encourage everyone else to do lots of fun things like have better, filthier sex.

But personally, alcohol dulls my senses and makes it harder for me to cum. So sex can still be great, but I won’t finish. And since alcohol doesn’t really add anything to sex for me, it nets out to a neutral to negative impact at best.

I cashed in my shares in the company ESOP plan when I changed jobs in 2019. That gave us enough for a down payment. In 5 years the house gained almost 70% in value. After paying the realtors, we have enough leftover to pay cash in a much lower cost (lower stress) market. We will never again make the salaries we made here, but I don’t care.
