Sex & Shenanigans

On this morning’s edition of impossible choices…. Would you rather lose an arm or a leg?
This reminds me, early in COVID we were having virtual happy hours with my team at work and we each had to pick a game to play. I chose pancake or waffles (Google it) and within like 8 comparisons, that game turned horribly dark. 2020 wasn’t a great year.

As someone who periodically loses most of their hearing for a couple months when they get a head cold, I’d absolutely rather lose my vision. It’s incredibly isolating to be deaf. Not being able to know who or what is going on around you. Not being able to freely participate in conversations because you’re missing what half the people are saying. Vision is awesome but it’s not the faces that connect me to people it’s their voices and their thoughts.
This was from hours ago but I agree. I suffered temporary deafness from a gun shot too close to my ear - we will kindly call that a military exercise gone wrong where I was incredibly lucky. Tinnitis not withstanding, the deafness was unnerving - it made me paranoid and incredibly unsure of my surroundings. I hated that I couldn’t communicate unless I was lip reading which is much harder than people think.
