We brought our daughter home from college yesterday. We rented a SUV to haul everything and had to do some extensive reverse Jenga to get everything to fit. Drove through two hours of rain and collapsed in a heap. Today she’s at the mall buying interview clothes for a summer job.

TRUBBY!!! Sounds like an adventure was had..

Greetings and Salutations everyone.. @Strixaluco a full bathroom Renovation ya that doesnt sound like fun..
Well not too fun indeed. But that comes with the territory. This house is over 40 years old. The plumbing needs to be redone a bit faster than expected, but just by maybe a handful of years.

But it will be nice to get some new surfaces etc. If I'm lucky and it happens in summertime, I can go to my parent's place in the meantime.

Yesterday was not fun. She had not taken her meds or eaten for two days. Evil is not quite the word I would use but can’t think of a better one. She is worlds better today.
Thank goodness she's better - it could easily take more time than that to recover.

So out there it's still possible to find a summer job in May? 👀 Here they go way earlier, especially anything that a college student might want.

Exactly. She had been working at one store in the mall last summer and Christmas and loved it. On her last break she went back to see if she could work this summer but as is typical in retail the management turned over and was very snotty to her. My wife found out that the local Nordstrom, a fancy US department store, had a hiring event and my daughter applied. Her previous retail experience was attractive and long story short she has an interview tomorrow.

Our house is 80 years old. We redid the electrical when we bought it 20 years ago and have obviously done repairs since, but the bathrooms, kitchen and windows need to go.

Today for a change I walked to the library to return some books then decided to keep going. I went to the county park at the edge of town and walked around the small zoo they have, then walked to the far end of the park then returned home. A nice circuit of 2-3 miles. I then did some yard work. I am now drinking red wine.

Sitting around with the leather cuffs attached to the bed, the hitachi all ready to go and a bottle of Bushmills. Special surprise toys hidden for later. Where is the bear?
