Then if you want something that will truly absorb you, try The Expanse! It's a sci fi show, but the first couple of seasons are a character driven hard boiled detective show. Not procedural like CSI, but mystery-esque like Broadchurch. Sort of neo-noir. Space-noir? Truly excellent and the best sci fi there is!

I spent about two years off and on again reading the whole 9 book series. 5,000 pages of Sci fi goodness in that one.
