I wish for your sake you can find someone you trust that knows how to do Shibari because it is delightful! Once you start, you just want to try more, pushing yourself more.

I come from a western tradition (or as we just called it, bondage), but I am really enjoying shibari. We have a local group that does workshops, so I have worked with it from an entirely aesthetic rather than sexual arena (which actually fits shibari better, but there you are). It is so elegant, I love it. And I love the look of the rope on you. Beautiful.

It is primarily being done for aesthetic reasons. We then push it into a more sexual realm when we start planning scenes above and beyond the rope play. I enjoy it for the constriction of it all, and for how it makes me look like art when I literally give all that power to someone else.
