After a freakishly long, hungover day at the office, I come home and slouch down at my computer. Doesn't boot. Tried safe mode, doesn't boot. Fuck. Restore point? 4 days ago, alright, not too bad. Restored - doesn't boot. FFFFFFF.

Had to reinstall my whole rig. Got all my personal files (and all photos etc are on NAS and cloud, thankfully...) but all my apps and programs and games are gone.

Time to spend the evening reinstalling a terrabyte of personalization. Oh happy day

Okay, part of my weeps for you, having been there a lot.

But part of me is like "Oooooooohhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhh!" I mean, if you are running a Windows box, thoughts and prayers. But for me, it is "Oh, holy cats and Linux, what can I try next?" I have been crashboxing a couple of Haiku distros, so do I think it is stable enough, and do I want to try an OpenBeOS/NuOS as my main system? Do I want to just go Mint, as it is so easy? Take another run at Arch? It didn't take for the the first time, but it has been several versions ago. Oh, Bodhi looks fun, but maybe not as a main box, so do I have another crashbox available, or run in a VM? Redhat? Ubuntu, or one of its variations? Where is my link to DistroWatch?

And after that, all the different options and bells and whistles, and new bells and whistles? Ohhhhh....nerdgasm.
