My mom used to plan every minute of vacation to the point I think I still have lingering trauma over that level of over indexed vacations. Sometimes I visit family or friends that need help, but I make sure to fit in plenty of relaxing and fun. And when I go on vacations just for fun, I plan a few things I really want to do but prefer to keep plenty of open space for spontaneous things. I’ve found it results in the trips I’ve enjoyed the most and done things I wouldn’t have gotten to experience otherwise.

This is why I have a steadfast rule about never camping when it’s too hot. I’m almost entirely a spring or early fall camper. Summers only when it’s cool at night.

They’re certifiably insane. That is the only possible explanation.

Maybe make them camp farther north? And at a higher elevation?

Hell, even when we’ve done backyard camping (Covid) and I could escape into the house for some AC relief if needed, I _still_ found excellent USB fans you could charge and put in the tent. I’m not great with extreme heat and no circulation

I only go camping in the summer... but it's beach camping and with the night air off the ocean it usually gets plenty chilly at night.
Also, I'm usually sharing a tent with my brother, so camping sex is off the table. We ain't that close.
