What's the incentive to make more if the government is just going to take it. It makes no sense to tax more if the government won't cut more.

That's why the income tax is progressive. As you rise through the tax brackets the government takes more, but the amount that's left behind for you increases as well. The Republican Party often preys on voter's ignorance of the tax code.

Here's what some Americans thought of Biden's State of the Union address, according to CNN polling​


More than six in 10 Americans who watched President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address had a positive reaction to the speech, according to a CNN Poll conducted by SSRS, with a smaller 35% reacting very positively.

That pattern of widespread but tempered positivity follows the trend of the reception of Biden’s speech in previous years. Last year, 72% of speech-watchers reacted positively, with 34% saying their reaction was very positive. In 2022, 71% had a positive reaction, with 41% very positive.

Good marks from speech-watchers are typical for presidential addresses to Congress, which tend to attract friendly audiences. In CNN speech reaction polls dating back to the Clinton era, audience reactions have always been positive. The 34% who reacted very positively to Biden’s speech in 2023 was the lowest in CNN’s speech reaction polls dating back to 1998.

i had to take the boomer off ignore since i saw notifications of people posting in this thread... people i enjoy reading. Guess this has to be about their most "successful" thread, given the amount of replies in it.
 
so it seems truth social had problems last night, with a lot of his base not being able to access his rage-tweets during the SOTU address... outages began before President Biden even began his speech and lasted over an hour.

toady, brett baier, on fox read out a few of trump's bleatings, and even offered to have trump speak live if he'd call in.

I dunno, but an open invitation from Baier to have trump talk openly about any crap filling his addled mind would seem to me to fall under the definition of being some sort of political propaganda.
