With about a third of the country ready to turn the place into Nazi Germany in November, with the clock turned back half a century on gender equality, with the House of Representatives under the control of a man who supported an insurrection, seems to me we should all be angry.

The 50 year thing was clearly about abortion rights. Gender equality doesn't have any history in the US. We are against that.

If I had to hazard a guess she was a sacrifice. Kinda like McCain for president. No Republican was gonna win in 2008 so let this guy go out there. The same here would make sense but Boebert more than likely is out at the end of the year so they could have thrown her to the wolves.

The only reason McCain was a sacrifice was because of the choice of VP. I think had they not picked Palin it would have been a very close election and McCain might have won. I know this because I was on the fence in that election on who to vote for, right up until the dumb-asses in the RNC talked McCain into Palin for VP. A stupid choice and it only got worse after that, culminating in a Trump presidency. I do have to admit voting for Obama wasn't a bad choice. I did vote for him in the following presidential election.

Its possible that I'm wrong. This is one of those opinion things and I don't thing any Republican could have won that year. Between the economy and all the things that were coming out about Iraq at the time that was a no win situation in my opinion. Then there is the history of things and its pretty rare for one party to keep the presidency for 12 years which if we remove FDR from the equation is the max in practice.

Undoubtedly. But odds are they're already voting for Trump in a misguided belief that their husbands will get a tax cut.

I didn't really think about it from a sex standpoint but to the degree that I did Boebert exists. Is in a pretty bad spot for the upcoming election. If she'd knocked it out of the park that would get her closer to her goal of keeping her job. If she screwed up like this, well she was already on the way out so its no harm, no foul kinda way.

If that was their goal though I'm not sure putting a woman in her place (the kitchen) was a good move. I would have run someone who is big on fitness and had a Rosie the Rivetter sort of vibe going.
