Nightmare, from old english, Niht Märe. Swedish; Nattmaran.

Depicted in swedish folktales as a beautiful woman, her back hollowed out like a rotten tree trunk, sitting on your chest forcing the breath from your lungs.

Maybe that's her in the crib.

Maybe she'll visit tonight.
