NGL, it's rough, and I frequently want to hurt people who know I can't have coffee and brew it in my presence, but I've had enough days when my anemia prevented me from functioning and don't want any more like that. I do cheat about twice a year for holiday-flavored lattes when I have absolutely nothing strenuous planned. At my anemia's worst, I had at least 4 different doctors read the results of my blood tests and give me the "how the fuck are you still alive and walking?!?" look. It wasn't encouraging.

At least you have an excuse to not drink it most of the time. I've just been told I'm not an adult because I can't stand coffee.

Peru too! Only pack animals (horses, miles, donkeys, llamas) are allowed up the trail to the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu, no vehicles!

Mu spouse is Peruano, and has some family there. I've been there in 2000, 2010, 2019...all on busses on th scariest kick back trail you've ever seen! An adorable kid, a modern chasqui, met us at every corner of the trail.

There is an Incan trail for hikers, that might not allow a motorized vehicles.

Peru is one of the places I would love to visit. Its great you've been able to go and visit family.
