Sex & Shenanigans

Too many replies to quote, but I'm not enthusiastic about Coca-Cola or Pepsi. One has too much tiny bubbles that make it feel warm in my mouth, the other not enough bubbles and feels flat in 10 minutes. Fake sugar is exponentially worse for teeth and root beer is just nasty. Dr Pepper is the way to go, and makes excellent ice cream floats too! Unfortunately, I'm severely iron-deficiency anemic and caffeine blocks iron absorption, so I don't drink as much of it as I'd like. I usually drink water, sparkling water, orange juice (vitamin C helps iron absorption), lemon-lime sodas like Sprite, or orange soda. I often spike my sparkling water with small amounts of fruit juice, which is still a lower sugar alternative to soda. I don't like ginger ale, but often drink it to combat nausea. Canada Dry has become...tolerable enough.

Isi t though?
It is.

what is the best vessel for ice cream consumption…

Waffle cone
bowl or dish
Sugar cone
Sundae
Preferably waffle bowl (I prefer not getting my hands messy, if possible) or waffle cone. If I'm at home with no waffle bowls/cones, sitting at the dining table and feeling fancy, a little glass bowl. If I'm at home with no waffle bowls/cones and curling up on the couch, a footed mug so it doesn't freeze my hands when I hold it or freeze my leg when I set it on my lap.

Are you saying I’m not normal?
Sooo...how 'bout them Dodgers? Signed Teoscar Hernandez last night...

My mum sang it to me as a kid.

I grew up thinking all Canadians rode donkeys.

I've not been to see if I'm wrong.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone ride a donkey in Canada …

With the exception of “hold my beer” moments.

Isn’t donkey riding a Mexican thing?

Normal is boring though, right?

@Kitty_so_frisky I had no idea about this caffeine/iron absorption thing! I knew about the orange juice because I used to wash down my liquid iron with OJ when I was pregnant 😂. I’m not sure I’m willing to give up coffee though…

NGL, it's rough, and I frequently want to hurt people who know I can't have coffee and brew it in my presence, but I've had enough days when my anemia prevented me from functioning and don't want any more like that. I do cheat about twice a year for holiday-flavored lattes when I have absolutely nothing strenuous planned. At my anemia's worst, I had at least 4 different doctors read the results of my blood tests and give me the "how the fuck are you still alive and walking?!?" look. It wasn't encouraging.
