I haven't heard that in decades. 😳
I remember it, but hadn't heard or thought about it in ages.
I just showed this to my wife.

We own a wooded lot, and I take a lot of trees down and sell firewood. (Altho, never taking them down the stream). I know my way around that tool - a cant hook - before we buck (round) the logs, split them and then stack them.

Very cute. Never heard that song before.

Day 8: A song that reminds you of childhood
I think I may have already posted this song once. But it’s a nice nostalgic look at the joys of childhood, before things became more complex and serious.
Now that my kids are grown, I long for some of those days myself…

Me too! I love those old NFB films.

You inspired my choice. I was trying to find a campfire song. There are no good recordings of "The Quartermaster's Store". But when I worked summers at a Boy Scout camp (yes, really), we ended staff campfires with this song

After "No, Nay Never" we sang "Bonne ca c'est bonne" French for "good, that's good"

My grandad would sing this to us, and sounded very similar to this recording. A life long teetotaler, he changed the words in a few places. Such as the little streams of alcohol became little streams of applesauce šŸ
Love this. My dad used to sing this to us kids when we were little and I sang this to mine.

It was a pretty radical song for back in the day.
