I remember first hearing this song like it was yesterday. I had just gotten out of the army for the second time, and was going through a divorce for the second time as well.

i always loved The Jam and for whatever reason, downloaded this song and played it over and over and over on a flight from Denver back to Newark. It’s a sad song, about closing doors to the past, but opening new ones and looking forward.

Shame, because this is a great song! Listened to it so much when i chose a path, for my mental sanity, that broke my heart. I felt anger at the time. Now it's just make me sad cause there were beautiful moments too... life goes on. C'est la vie!
