reminds me of road Dawg life with my baby mama , hotel room blah being alone with my thoughts after my call home checking in letting her know I am safe and sound saying good night . Hotel room Phone calls , pre cell phones

My adult daughter and I share a very strong bond when it comes to writing Poems or our sharing our father daughter thoughts about life in general. She and her brother were very close. When he died 10 years ago this song was our silent anthem between our tears of grief. We would just listen to it in silence.

It’s definitely one of the saddest stories I’ve ever heard I can’t imagine how he felt writing the song

I would hope it was cathartic to put his sorrow into words, set it to melody, and share the weight of the grief. But even that, to lose a child, I can't imagine the pain ever leaves you fully.
