Sex & Shenanigans

Asheville? Really? Give me Boone and Blowing Rock town wise, or Bryson City activity wise!
You are going to need to show your work. Of the 3 you mentioned, I've heard of Boone and I've actually spent a fair amount of time in the state. Asheville was great back when it was quaint but now it's a tourist trap. There are good breweries and good restaurants but I think it's lost some of it's charm. Apologies to @FunLi but NC is good for beaches and pulled pork. None of the cities are great. The outer banks is great but will it exist in 50 years?

Geez man, you're such a downer.....

Also, you and Yogi Berra: "nobody goes there anymore because it's too croweded."

Boone is kind of nice. It's a little bit quaint.

Personally if I'm going to NC for fun, yeah it's either the outter banks or I'd rather be camping the mountains.
If I'm headed there for work, it's the triangle. Which has some great restaurants, fun museums and gardens. I recommend March actually, it's a nice time of year and stuff is in bloom.

Yeah, sorry, didn't mean to be a downer. I just don't care for Raleigh and have a bad taste from Maryland's days in the ACC. I have been to NC often in March and September. I personally prefer September on Hatteras island if you can dodge the hurricanes.
And I was to both Asheville and Nashville before they went full blown tourist trap, so I'm sorry if I get nostalgic about both towns.

Have been to the Outer banks, was okay. But then again, I went a year after they had a hurricane destroy everything soo, the aftermath was interesting/experience to see. Haven't done the NC moutains.

Hahaha, no apologies needed for me. Asheville is quite a tourist trap but still has its good brews. The smaller towns are nice, Boone & Blowing Rock are beautiful with great hiking. I saw someone mentioned Bryson City which is my preferred spot 😊

Well it is a Monday....

NC is someplace I'd consider moving too. I wish I had the chance to spend more time in Asheville when I did my cross-cluntry road trip. NC is gorgeous.

It is pretty beautiful 😊
Although on my most recent trip, I fell in love with central and especially northern Alabama. Almost ties with Tennessee for me.

I think, as far as North Carolina goes, it has more to do with what you’re doing who you’re doing it with and what you’re into. Everybody’s entitled to like what they like, right?
I happen to like Bryson city, but I have friends there. And I happen to like Asheville, but I have friends there. So again, I guess that’s what you’re going for..

The “away from people” part…mountains are wonderful, as are deserted tropical islands
Yep. I’m not a huge island fan, though.

Exactly! That goes for anywhere, really. Some people come to NC for the beaches, I’m personally not a beach girl for more than a week a year, if that. If you’re into the arts scene, Asheville is for you, etc.
