Haha, ya. A ruler is better too because you can press it to the pubic bone. Like mentioned, accounts for differences in the pubic fat pad between guys. Tailors tape is the way to go for girth, though.

I've never included measurements in stories because I find the same. I'll use adjectives and have characters comment on it, but I feel like giving actual measurements is distracting.
