It seriously stresses me out. I'm one of the people who lie awake at night worried about all the trash in the world and how it's slowly killing us all. My family constantly uses paper plates and it drives me nuts!

At least paper plates will break down decently though. Styrofoam is what gets me.

It drives me nuts because their trash can is ALWAYS full. I dump my regular kitchen trash about 1once a week, my mom and dad dump theirs 3 times a week. How do they make that much trash? lol

where I live we only get trash pickup every 2 weeks … really forces you to think about what and how much you throw away. We recycle SO much and also put all our food scraps in the compost bin (which comes weekly)

They are now using styrofoam in road construction because they can build up ramps and whatnot with it knowing it won’t degrade forever

I'm sorry to hear that it causes you stress. I try not to let things I can't change get to me. I've always tried to avoid waste and make things last, but the thing that has annoyed me for years now is the irreparability of so many things. eg the washing machine springs a leak and it's cheaper to buy a new one than get it repaired
