The funniest AH dweller

Par for the course 'round here.

Statistically I'd bet the AH is off topic more than it is on but it doesn't really matter.

Any contributions to craftwork is a plus over most other forums I've seen.
I suspect then that you wouldn't like Story Ideas much, unless you find blackmail erotic. I've had a few rants there too.

“Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.” - Euripides, The Bacchae.

"Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself." - Proverbs 26:4.
(Oh no! It’s gone from funny to wise! Gotta say something smart or else people will think I’m stupid…c,mon brain! C’mon!)

Er…yeah, well…I know you are, but what am I?

(Oh bravo, numb-nuts! Bra-vo! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️).

Isn't it ironic that those who advocate for being nice and kind often display an unexpectedly feisty temperament for no apparent reason?

Feelings of inferiority can often bring out the worst in us. For instance, consider those who feel obligated to press the like button on weird social media posts.
Balls!

Fell for it.

😳😳😳

Actually, when I press the Like button, it may be a signal (although I do truly like it) to the other person that I can't think of a response. Don't take it personally, guys! ;)

The red coats instinctively close ranks whenever Napoleon strikes a chord.
Hey, references to the Napoleonic wars is my shtick! I just love how Napoleon (Rod Steiger) gets so pissed off. "Think of England!" Boom! Christopher Plummer is great in this too.

Deep-seated subconscious feelings can often hold us back, but it's never too late to address them. One can be reborn after therapy.
You must know about Carl Jung's Theory of the Shadow Self. According to him, we all have one. However, he recommends facing it directly (feelings of aggression and sexuality are part of it) and putting it to some use. Thus Literotica?

Emily, don't be intimidated. You may have to research it a bit, but you'll find it; it's all there somewhere.

There is an upcoming Napoleon movie by Ridley Scott, but I am not really holding my breath... You can't really paint Napoleon, or his life's journey in just one movie. A mini series of 7-8 episodes would be needed at least, to show his progression and all the key moments in his life - from the moment he started making his name, the massacre in Jaffa, all the way to his last years on St. Helena. His immense impact on Europe and the world needs to be painted too. Oh well, the times of good movies and series is definitely behind us.

I don't know. If anything a whole movie sounds like overkill. After all, how many different ways are there to say 'Short Dead Dude'.

Serious answer, a movie often can be a good way to focus on one specific moment in an historical figures life, give you a different view of one particular aspect. Otherwise, it just drags on through one plodding story beat after story beat (oh look, the Prussian's have turned up, didn't see that coming). Don't know if that's what Scott is doing though.

Interesting facts on that movie, which I personally liked. It was co-produced by Italy and the Soviet Union, directed by a Russian, released by Paramount, filmed mainly in English but in the Ukraine and used 7,000 - 17,000 (estimates vary) Soviet soldiers as extras. That latter is, I believe, a world record.

Very interesting. I've seen some of that movie but never all of it. Rod Steiger was so good in In The Heat Of The Night but I could never quite see him as Napoleon.

Thread start: Who is funniest AH member.

Currently: Discussing the last big film about Napoleon Boner-part.

C’mon team. WTF?!

😆🤣😂

The differnce between the AH now and ten years ago, is that that back then serious threads would inevitably denegerate into funny ones.

I didn't come around until late 2016 but my understanding is that for a few years prior to that things were much more poisonous than they are now. I think by the standards of social media in general--especially forums that invite discussion and disagreement--this place is fairly tame.

Yes, that's true -- it all went tits up. I should have said 15 years ago -- I forget how fucking OLD I am

Sometimes I do wonder about myself. I've been going off on these weird, barely on-topic rants. I just have to get The Civil War or the World War I in there somehow. People must be thinking, "Dude, this is an erotic literature site."
Oh, yes, death and destruction, how very romantic and sexy is that?

So not true. This quote from a different thread is enough to warrant a nomination! You really made my night with it :D
Thank you, thank you very much. Oh, no, I'm not doing Elivs, I'm doing my father, doing Elivs close to the way that Nicolas Kim Coppola, I mean Nick Cage, does him.

EMP - since when did any AH thread stick to script? There's humour in that, too.

But, OK, funniest... I'll nominate Euphony. I like their style.
